Convenience Concepts Oxford Console Table with Shelf

I've taken to grading furniture I purchase online on a curve (remember those days??!! Yikes!!).The finish on the table was conspicuously scuffed up at the factory. And I'm not talking about one part, I'm talking about most of the pieces. It's black, anyway, and it will get some wear-and-tear, so I decided to put it together given that it's the last bit of furniture I'm likely to buy anytime soon.What really gets me is the pine-infused formaldehyde smell that's coming off of it -- it's like someone went through a World War I trench with a can of Lemon Pledge and or something. Borderline nauseating. I noticed this when I moved it from my "well ventilated DIY space" to the hall where I hope to put it. Anyway, it's standing next to the window now, fan humming away. Some things I guess I"ll never understand.On the plus side, it looks pretty nice for what it is. Also, I do have to give the people credit for the "color by numbers" approach to directions. That's huge (particularly if you've got a serious formaldehyde buzz going on lol).What you need to know:* This is on par with something you'd pick up at Walmart :( (Target, maybe, by a stretch). Definitely, you could find something better at Ikea.* It's a simple piece (unlike a desk or dresser) and I figure it will survive a move without any issues* I do like the contemporary look overall* If you can't afford a 40 oz, you can sniff the particle board and feel your troubles melt away lol***Final note -- You'll want to have a flashlight on hand since some of the holes into which the screw fasteners are embedded may need to be tweaked. If you've a small LED flashlight, you'll be fine.***

Very good until I got down to the last 2 screws and there inserts. While screwing, the inserts decided to turn and carve through the wood, pushing it out‼️ Therefore, it has a little unstableness about it‼️ At least it’s located underneath out of sight.

Nice quality! Use it for my plants.

My concern is not with the table design which I love, it's with the quality of the pieces. The part identification stickers on the 4 rails took off the paint and left white circles ( and yes I did carefully remove the stickers) The stickers on the other parts came off without any problems. The top of the table in one corner, about 4 inches in width and length had small bubbles indicating the final finish didn't not adhere properly in that area. There were scratches on 2 of the corner sides on the top ofm the table, but the most distrubing was that the bottom shelf had pea size gouges in the top in a three inche diameter area. These gouges of course are very noticeable. Since this piece was needed in room where my guests will be staying and their arrival is days away I did not try and box up the pieces and return the item. It weighss 29 lbs. and would probably cost quite a bit to mail. I looked for a long time for something that had a smaller depth and was please to find this one. I have tried to use furniture repair on the scratches on the top with little success. As for the bottom I have placed a decorative basket over the scratches.I did take pics of the problems.

I love this purchase. I don’t buy anything on amazon without reading a lot of reviews and I rarely write one myself. I mean, this thing was only 60something bucks. I had pretty low expectations. But, I have a lot of experience with putting furniture together and this was one of the easiest ones I have had and also is very sturdy feeling. As long as you are CAREFUL during assembly you won’t scratch it or break it. I did it by hand, I do not recommend using power tools. With my three year old “helping” it took about 35 minutes to put it together by myself. I am very impressed with this piece and would definitely recommend this console table.
