Pretty Good Book
I've liked the whole series, this book being the last. It is a little drawn out and it's not my favorite in the series but still good. Great for teens and young adults.

Why Julie?!
Julie Kagawa has done it again!! The Iron Traitor was a freaking incredible read that totally blows you out of the water! Seriously, I am shaking with emotions and I cannot even begin to describe them! While it's been a year too long since I read The Lost Prince, only a week has passed since its events. And things aren't going too good for Ethan. The word on the street is that he kidnapped Kenzie and took her to New York. Not only are teachers and students giving him looks and trouble, but now Kenzie's dad is stepping into the picture and forbidding him to see Kenzie. Like that's really going to happen! The big issues in this one are that Keirran is missing, Meghan comes to Ethan wanting to know if he knows where he's at and he doesn't. Then Annwyln comes to Ethan and is practically dying...or fading away. If she doesn't get back to Faery soon, she will be gone forever. So Ethan sets out to help her find Keirran so that they can try to find a way to save her from totally disappearing.Kenzie tags along as well, much to Ethan's disappointment. His overprotecting, overbearing self, wants Kenzie to stay as far away from everything faery as possible, but Ethan has yet to really learn how stubborn and determined Kenzie can be. She will do what she wants when she wants and I gotta say, I love that about her. Ethan's icy demeanor and sometimes hostility do nothing to deter her from her goals. And I think that's what makes them perfect for one another. I have to admit, that I was peeved with Ethan for his overprotective streak. The problems that caused between the two so early in their relationship had me worried. But Julie never disappoints, as the two somehow manage to work together anyway, I guess because it goes back to their stubbornness. They team up with Keirran in order to save Annwyln's life by doing a favor the Summer Queen. Which just so happens to take them to Tir Na Nog and create a bit of chaos.Old faces return once again! I was ecstatic to see Grimalkin and Puck return! Meghan made a brief early appearance and yes even Ash! I gotta say I totally love Grimalkin and Puck! Those two are a riot! Grimalkin just has that attitude that is too funny! I totally hear his voice when I read his lines!I gotta say that I am always tickled with the romance between Kenzie and Ethan. Ethan still shocks with me by how much he's grown, but still, I love the guy! A little thickheaded at times, but aren't most guys? Kenzie definitely has her hands full but she knows how to handle her tough guy!The pacing in this one was perfect! I'll admit I kept wondering when we'd get to something, but Julie gives us a nice slow simmering that when I look back on it, was awesome! We move from one problem to the next. One quest to complete before another is thrown towards the gang's way. And of course problems occur during each "quest."But what really, really killed me? The ending! OMG! The ending is without a doubt the worst shouting cliffhanger ever! I was just left shocked when I saw the end coming up, I was in denial because I thought there's no way Julie would do that to us...but then authors do get a sick pleasure in leaving us readers hanging! I knew ahead of time there was a dastardly cliffhanger, but still I HAD to read this one and I still highly recommend reading this one as well. Why wait another year to read the two back to back? Us readers are always enduring torture! An overall fantastically fabulously epic read!! I am sooo ready for the finale! Bring it on, Julie!Overall Rating 5/5 stars

Sucks you in right from the start
After his last jaunt into Fairy, Ethan Chase wants absolutely nothing more to do with the fey. He just wants to spend his time with his new girlfriend, Kenzie and try and pretend the other world doesn't exist. But when his nephew, Prince of the Iron Realm, Keirran goes missing, he finds himself dragged back into the thick of things with the fey. Somehow it became up to him and Kenzie to stop Keirran from the unthinkable when it comes to his methods of saving his love. If they fail, Keirran could cause a war that won't only effect the fey realms, but spill over into the human one as well.I could literally spend this entire review talking about how much I loathe Keirran. I wasn't his biggest fan in the previous installment, but in THE IRON TRAITOR he hit an all time low in my book. Sure his actions are supposed to be about sacrificing everything for love, but it sparked more of selfishness in my opinion. As much as I hate to say it, I feel like his parents, Ash and Megan set a really bad example for him. Their love was forbidden, but they found a way, so of course now Keirran won't let anything stand in his way. The big difference however was that Ash and Megan did not set out to ruin anyone else in their determination to be together. Sure, you could argue in the long run that they did hurt others as their being together allowed Keirran, the catalyst to be born into the world, but they didn't set out that way. Keirran several times throughout the book turns cold and forbidding. I honestly do not understand why any of them stuck with him, especially Annwyl. But I'll get into the rest of the characters later. I know I've read books with characters that are much worse than Keirran, but there is just something about him that infuriates me. Don't get me wrong, I love Julie's writing, but I'll be honest that there were a few times while reading this book that I had to force myself to continue on because I was so angry with him. But then again, that right there might actually be a testament to her skill at crafting a character that elicits such a strong response. As far as the rest of the characters, Annwyl just struck me as weak, honestly when she only put up token complaints whenever Kierren was off doing something horrible in search of saving her. But I tried to mostly overlook that as I can't imagine what it would be like to be fading like she was. But then again, Kenzie wasn't doing so hot either, and who knows how much longer she will have herself, yet she doesn't allow or expect anyone else to save her. Speaking of Kenzie, I absolutely adore her. She's so strong and amazing, and I just love how she and Ethan are together. She softens him without making him into a wimp. And Ethan, while I adore him, well he needed a bit of softening. Sure, his life has been anything but easy, but he really needed someone to get his head out of his butt to show him being angry and standoffish to the world was not the solution, and Kenzie was that person. They definitely have a swoon worthy romance, only stepping this book up yet another notch. From what I understand, this series is supposed to be a trilogy, but I'll be honest that I'm not really sure how everything could possibly be wrapped up in just one more book. Sure there was a little forward momentum with the prophecy surrounding Ethan and Kierren, but I still feel like there's a long way to go yet, especially with the way things ended in this book. Talk about a brutal cliffhanger! But I guess that just means that trilogy or not, the next book will be one heck of a ride. Once again, Julie Kagawa has pulled off one heck of an amazing book with THE IRON TRAITOR. Take my word for it, this book is one heck of a read that will suck you in right from the start and not let go.

Into the Frozen Wood
This is book 6 in The Iron Fey series, but it is actually book 2 from the Call Of The Forgotten books which can be read independently of the first four books. I've listed the full reading order of The Iron Fey books at the bottom of my review should this be of any use to anyone reading this. I would say however that the previous books are fantastic and well worth a read (especially if you like Faerie or Fantasy) and that there will be back parts to the Call Of The Forgotten books that will not make as much sense without reading the first four books.I have actually only just finished reading this book along with the other two books from the COTF (Call Of The Forgotten) as I read the last book in the first part of the Iron Fey series; The Iron Knight back in 2013 but I didn't want to start a new chapter in the lives of Meghan Chase and her brother Ethan as I was still so caught up in the first part and so I subsequently purposefully avoided reading this next part of the series until now. I can confirm that this next set of 3 books is fantastic and whilst I don't love Ethan Chase's character as much as his sister Meghan, the series and writing from the author is just as good and instantly drew me in.There are no spoilers for this book in this review but there will be spoilers for the earlier books following now so please don't continue to read if you don't want any earlier spoilers.Following on from the events of The Lost Prince and Ethan's journey back into the world of Faerie and the Nevernever, Ethan is continuing with his normal mortal life and supporting his girlfriend Kenzie in her latest admission to hospital (although much to Kenzie's Father's dislike) when his sister Meghan makes an unexpected visit to his home. It's not often that you have the Queen of the Iron Fey sitting in your living room and after Meghan not visiting their home since she became Queen, it's certainly a surprise. It transpires that Ethan's newly discovered nephew Keirran is missing and hasn't returned home after their run in with the Queen of The Forgotten and Meghan is understandably worried. When Keirran's summer faerie, Annwyl turns up at Ethan's home and Ethan finds out that Keirran is searching for a cure to Annwyl's fading, both he and Kenzie know they need to help find him. Finding Keirran and stopping him from doing anything rash isn't going to be easy but when The Thin Man is also hunting Annwyl to prevent an ancient prophecy coming to pass and they don't know where to find Keirran, it's clear things are not going to be easy. Can Ethan and Kenzie find Keirran and can Keirran prevent Annwyl from fading out of existence or will the price be too high?.....This is a fantastic follow up to the emergence of The Forgotten in the previous book and has an absolute shock ending that made me glad I could read the final book straight away and didn't have to wait like earlier readers. Once again some favourite and new favourite characters such as my favourite little gremlin, Razor, Puck and Ash make appearances and the storyline really builds to the shock final chapters. Another fantastic installment and crazy ending - completely unputdownable.Just for clarification the reading order of the full The Iron Fey series is:-The Iron Fey:-Book 1: The Iron King (The Iron Fey - Book 1) Short Story e-book: Winter's Passage (The Iron Fey short story) Book 2: The Iron Daughter (The Iron Fey - Book 2) Book 3: The Iron Queen (The Iron Fey - Book 3) Short Story e-book: Summer's Crossing (The Iron Fey short story) Book 4: The Iron Knight (The Iron Fey Book 4) The Iron Fey Call of the Forgotten:-Short Story e-book: Iron's Prophecy (Call Of The Forgotten prequel to The Lost Prince) Book 1: The Lost Prince (The Iron Fey - Book 5 / COTF Book 1) Book 2: The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey - Book 6 / COTF Book 2 Book 3: The Iron Warrior (The Iron Fey - Book 7 / COTF Book 3) Compilation of all e-books in paperback:- The Iron Legends (The Iron Fey)The Iron KnightThe Iron King (The Iron Fey - Book 1)Winter's Passage (The Iron Fey short story)The Iron Daughter (The Iron Fey - Book 2)The Iron Queen (The Iron Fey - Book 3)Summer's Crossing (The Iron Fey short story)The Iron Knight (The Iron Fey Book 4)Iron's Prophecy (Call Of The Forgotten prequel to The Lost Prince)The Lost Prince (The Iron Fey - Book 5 / COTF Book 1)The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey - Book 6 / COTF Book 2The Iron Warrior (The Iron Fey - Book 7 / COTF Book 3)The Iron Legends (The Iron Fey)

A Fantastic Read!
This is the second book in the Call of the Forgotten trilogy, but the sixth book in The Iron Fey series. I absolutely loved it!Ethan Chase is a fantastic character. I really liked him when I first met him as a frightened four year old when he was kidnapped by The Iron King and taken into Faery in the first book of the series. Now he's seventeen and he's grown up into a wonderful young man. He is determined to live a normal life but, when his nephew Keirran goes missing, Ethan finds himself being swept into another dangerous adventure.I have become addicted to this series. I started reading this book as soon as I had finished reading The Lost Prince and didn't put it down until I had finished it.I enjoyed meeting all of the previous characters again: Grimalkin, Puck, Meghan, Ash, Leanansidhe, Razor and Kenzie. The reader is also introduced to some new characters, one of them being the Thin Man, who is the mayor of the town of the Forgotten. He is determined to restore the balance, which was disturbed when Ash and company travelled through it when going to the end of the world to win his soul years before. The forgotten are growing stronger under the leadership of The Forgotten Queen and the outcast and half-breed fey in the human world are disappearing. Meghan is concerned and asks Ethan to investigate what's happening. What he discovers will have serious consequences for both the human world and the land of Faery if he is unable to stop a prophecy from coming true. This story is again full of action, adventure, danger and romance. There are a few twists that I didn't see coming and a couple of shocks too. I love the witty dialogue between the characters and the vivid storytelling brought this book to life. I could picture the scenes in my minds eye with ease. In fact, I didn't feel like I was reading at all but watching a movie. As the story unfolded I found myself on a roller coaster ride of emotion and had tears streaming down my face on more than one occasion, as well as sitting on the edge of my seat at others. I reached the end of the book in a state of shock and disbelief. I have a love/hate relationship to cliffhangers but I can't wait to read the last book in the trilogy, The Iron Warrior, as soon as I can.Julie Kagawa has written a fantastic Young Adult series. I love her writing style, which is fast paced and exciting. The flow was also wonderful, as each scene moved effortlessly into the next. She has found a firm fan in me and I will definitely be reading more of her books in the future.Although there are no scenes of a sensual nature, there are scenes that are violent or a little gory. Therefore, I do not recommend this to readers under 15. However, I highly recommend this book if you love YA fantasy or paranormal romances. - Lynn Worton

Wonderful!
I have been a fan of this series since it's publication and along with my friends, eagerly pre-order each book, counting days til release. This is easily my favourite modern series of books and many of my friends agree. I would recommend reading the series in order. The first book is The Iron King. I am Team Ash, all the way!

An iron will.
I have now read all the iron fey books and I think Julie Kagawa as a great imagination. She can certainly spin a tale. Had me up reading to the wee hours and burning dinners. It was worth it as I enjoy a good story. Keep up the good work.
