Pinch of Nom Express: Fast, Delicious Food

Wow! Better than ever, if possible.,
Firstly just to say I am a massive Pinch Of Nom fan. I have every book and probably use one every day. I lost 3.5 stones during lockdown and I have kept it off. I basically eat all things Pinch of Nom and still have loads of recipes to try. Their food is absolutely delicious. They use huge flavours to make it so tasty and you would never know you were on a weight loss plan, it’s actually the best I’ve ever eaten. To lose the weight I stuck rigidly to the following: a breakfast of no more than 300 calories; lunch is either soup, salad, omelette or leftovers from pinch of nom meal I had night before; dinner was/is always pinch of nom meal with my plate half packed with veg. That was all I ate. Now to maintain, I stick to above but maybe have takeaway at weekend, eat some sweet things now and again, eat what I want when I go on holiday.I was, therefore, mega-excited to get their Express book and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. I’ve not tried the recipes yet, but I’ve never had one I didn’t like. The recipes look wonderful and I’m planning this weeks meals just now. There is a huge selection but the ones in most excited to try are Tamarind Chicken, sticky Pineapple Fried Rice, sausage and Tomato Mac n Cheese, and Creamy Bacon and Butternut Chicken but to be honest they all look marvellous. There are two main sections: Quick Cook and Quick Prep and each of those is divided into Breakfast, Fakeaways, Soups and Stews, Bakes, Roasts and One Pots, Snacks and Sides, Sweet Treats, and at the end Airfryer and Multi Methods. The choice is huge and you will never be bored or run out of ideas. As all Pinch of Nom books, it has appetising photographs and easy instructions. The quality of the paper is lovely too.I honestly can’t recommend this book highly enough. To me it looks like the best one yet and that’s no mean feat. If you want to lose weight, be healthy and enjoy the most delicious meals this is the best way out there. I should know, I’ve tried them all. Buy this, use it, you will love it!

Excellent
Another great recipe book from PON range. There weren't as many recipes as I had hoped but the ones that I have selected as ones I want to do all sound amazing. So far I've cooked 2 recipes and they've turned out great, the pizza pockets were a hit! Highly recommend if you like quick and easy cooking.

Quick and delicious!
Bought for my mum as she was looking for some fun recipes that fit with her slimming world. Some of the recipes have since become staples in their house. I especially like that they do healthier takes on standard takeaway dishes, which is great for eating more healthily while not feeling like you're eating healthily.

Not all recipes are strictly 'Express' but a fabulous recipe book regardless...
The media could not be loaded. I have a large collection of recipe books because I love cooking but I'm not particularly creative with food and need a bit of direction and inspiration the kitchen. In true Pinch Of Nom style, this new 'Express' book is a superb collection of recipes that do not require any fancy ingredients that you wouldn't be able to pick up with your regular food shop. One of my favourite things about these books, 'Express' included, is that each recipe is accompanied by a fabulous full colour photograph of the finished dish. I do like to know what the end result is supposed to look like.As with the previous books all recipes are labelled to show whether or not they can be frozen or batch cooked or if they are gluten or dairy free etc. Number of servings per recipe is noted as are approximate prep and cooking times. The book is divided into two sections 'Quick Cook' and 'Quick Prep'. But is it really 'Express'....well sort of yes, for the most part and depending on your definition of express. If you're expecting an entire book full of recipes that can be prepped, cooked and on the table in a half hour then you might be slightly disappointed with the 'Quick Prep' half of the book. There are a few recipes in this section that I would still describe as fast, but many of these recipes are likely to take closer to an hour from start to finish (including prep time) with a just a few even having a cook time of roughly an hour or more. However these are mainly recipes that you can just bung in the oven or slow cooker and not have to do a great deal with after prep so it's not so bad.As with any recipe book, there are a couple of recipes that I probably won't try but I'll give the vast majority a go. I can see the Biscoff Sponge Traybake being a favourite in our house. Really looking forward to trying the Pulled Pork Chilli (6 hours in slow cooker, so not strictly express), Cider Chicken Pie, Sticky Plum and Chicken Traybake, Spicy Chicken Pasta, Fragrant Chicken Curry, Sweet chilli Nuggets and Pizza Pockets (these will be a great packed lunch alternative).Despite some recipes being a bit of a stretch on the term 'Express' this is still a fabulous, well presented book, great value and definitely a worthwhile addition to your recipe book collection..
