Excellent tire inflator, 100% duty cycle at 50 PSI.
Excellent tire inflator. Slightly unusual design (motor and compressor housed inside a tin can with a plastic lid), but this is compensated for by its performance and quiet operation. It is also equipped with a cooling fan (drawing 0.3 Amps and engaging after plugging into the cigarette lighter port, before the motor switch) that is needed due to the enclosed tin can lacking ventilation. The motor and cooling fan together draw 8.3 Amps when the pressure reaches 50 PSI. This company is known for quality tire inflators.

Great item that has paid for itself
Where I live it is very hard to find a gas station with working air pumps, so someone suggested this item to me. It works great and has already paid for itself. I have a tire with a slow leak but I'm trying to get a few thousand more miles out of my set of tires and I use this every week to top off right in my driveway. It's super east to connect and run.

Should be in every car
It's always good to keep your tires topped off and going to the gas station to do it is annoying. They should give it for free with gas purchase, but they sometimes feign ignorance or its broken or you just don't wanna deal with asking but the price is like $2 for 30 seconds worth so you have to speed around your car with utmost efficiency like you're doing a F1 pitstop. This is a solid and easy-to-use little pump that comes in a kinda neat little tin/container and does exactly what you need it to. For most cars, where you generally want to get up to 40-50 PSI at most, it suffices just fine. (For very large vehicles that can be >50 PSI, you need to get the bigger ones but make sure you have an outlet that supports the amperage.)Finally, it's an actual, reputable brand for this sort of thing. I know you're probably tempted by all the other stuff on Amazon that's half the price from these random brand names you've never heard of. But most of the time those things are junk. Sometimes they're just a tiny, underpowered compressor surrounded by a big plastic shell with a bunch of empty space just to make it look more powerful (has happened to me). Other times the pressure gauge is faulty and miscalibrated so you need to buy a separate pressure gauge anyways. Save yourself the hassle and just get the VIAIR.

Quiet... Quick...
This a quiet and quick little compact pump. Especially for car tires. With some safe pre-planning, you can top off the tires in the morning while the car is warming up for the drive. Everything gets tucked away inside the loaded canister and good to go! Excellent purchase.

Useless
Garbage product. Poorly made and does not function well. For half the price you could get a more reliable and functional compressor for your car with a digital readout and preset psi target. The case is cheap, the feet came bent on my unit and the lid is poorly secured, falling off frequently. The analog gauge is inaccurate and is difficult to read. The stem valve is nearly impossible to get off even after disengaging the little lever. It feels like your going to rip off the tire valve stem before it finally comes free. This company may make good product but this is not one of them. Avoid this product and get something cheaper with better features that works well.

Works perfectly
In the past, I've used the Husky 12 V Tire Inflator on several occassions. Compared to that, this is more efficient and fast with less wattage. I don't like how it looks but it performs pretty well, so I am happy. Viair are pretty open with their performance and test data and I like the fact that they make different inflators for different tires/cars. This one suits my car abd tires perfectly since my car's recommended wattage on my accessory power outlets is 120 W. Most other passengar car tire inflators will have spec of either 180+ W, and therefore they issue warnings one of which is to be mindful of how long to run and all. But Viair has a variety of them, go to the website and they also have a guide on to choose.

Great for smaller cars
works great for my Daughters 2011 Toyota RAV4Update 1/6/25It’s still working like a champ and has been used quite a lot and never failed. Since then, my son has one for his car and has had the same luck.Does a great job and keeps you away from shady gas stations.

If you have a Subaru, this is the pump to get
One of very few compressor pumps that can run off the Subaru's infuriating 12 volt 120 watt accessory power outlet, drawing only 10 amps. Most pumps draw 12-15 amps and that would blow the fuse in a Subaru. This one operates within the Subaru's limit of 10 amps.Pump works well and the max working pressure of 50 PSI can also inflate my bicycle tires. Very quiet pump. Designed in the USA, but built in China. So far the quick release lever has held up (I've been using this for about a year, although not with great frequency.) Gauge readings are mostly in line with my other pressure gauge. Hose is short but the supple rubber sleeve makes it easy to maneuver. If you have a Subaru just get this, it's your best option for an accessory-outlet-powered pump.
