Does the job.
I do like these only because I have arthritis in my hands. They are very small, easy to break. So, if you use wax with your watercolors, I suggest a sturdier wax stick

Wax crayons for masking
These work well with watercolors when using a masking agent isn’t available.

Wax sticks for watercolor
What I ordered but they are much smaller than I expected. I thought they would be the size of a Crayola crayon but these are MUCH smaller than that!

Small size and broken.
I haven't had a chance to test them yet, but they did arrive today with two tips broken off. I am a little worried about size and being able to grip them during my work. I'll update after I see how they work on my project.

Wax resist crayons
These are too thin and fragile to use for applying wax resist to a project. Breakable and hard to see when applied.

great to use instead of masking fluid
wax sticks are great to use in place of masking fluid. I find them to be really good for seascapes when creating the waters edge. I have also used it to create a moon where you need to keep the white of the paper.

I was delighted that these had reappeared on-site after not being available for a long time. They are really useful for masking out small details on watercolour paper that won't accept masking fluid and l sometimes use them to achieve the texture of weathered paint or rocks. They are very small - about two thirds of the size of the average wax crayon - so are uneconomic for covering large areas. However I personally feel that this technique is best used sparingly with watercolour as wax is both indelible and shiny but can be tremendously effective.

A box of 5 dainty little clear sticks arrived (approx 7.5 x 4.5 x 1cm). The sticks go on to paper and card easily. I think I would rather have 5 smaller sticks than one big one, as they will be easier to use for small areas and fine lines.

After waiting aprox 2 weeks I received a 2 inch box of 4 clear wax crayons.. paid 19.00. YES THESE ARE GOING BACK FOR A COMPLETE REFUND. What a joke...
