durable and well made
perfect enclosure for my jumping spider slings. i did have to remove one of the zippers (it has 2) because where they meet left small spaces for the slings to escape. but after removing one of the zippers it works perfectly. well made, good value, and easy to use. ill def. be purchasing more of these for my slings.

Great Product & Wonderful Company!
I absolutely love this habitat cage for my Painted Lady Butterflies. I had 12 caterpillars in my care this time and the habitat I had been using for my butterflies was simply too small & had other other issues I really began to dislike. So, I decided to search for a better habitat this time around & decided on this particular one. VERY PLEASED WITH THIS HABITAT!! Absolutely everything I wanted and more. The two zippers on the side are absolutely awesome. Makes everything so much easier to do without disturbing the chrysalises. I really like having the vinyl side for a better view, plus it gives the option to have the vinyl side down for easier cleaning of any frass and meconium. Easily will fit a good amount of potted plants unlike the last habitat I had, which is just awesome. Easier to see through the mesh on this habitat as well compared to my previous habitat. Very well made and easy to fold back up when not in use. I really like the overall look of the habitat as well. I plan to buy again from this company again to get the 12x12x12 cube looking habitat next. I am very pleased with my purchase. The price and quality is absolutely amazing for this habitat. Myself and my butterflies are very satisfied with this purchase. Highly recommend buying from this company. I even liked they included a quick start guide for caring for your butterflies from eggs to butterfly phase. They also emailed me to let me know that if I had any questions or issues to please let them know and they would be glad to help. Always a good sign of a good company!

For Monarch Butterfly Restoration
The cage basically last on average 2-years due to UV sun damage, but will fit 2-3 milkweed plants. I line the bottom with newspaper to make easy cleanup from the Monarch caterpillar frass which drop on the paper. Depending what stage you place the caterpillar instars, the mesh on the cage will keep out parasitic flies and wasps/hornets. The mesh on top allows the caterpillars to j-hang when the time comes. They seem to j-hang on the cage corners or if you place some shade (tape/paper, etc) secured over the top of the cage. The two zippers on the door allow for easy access and the clear plastic side panel for easy viewing. I place mine on the patio table sometimes with the umbrella up, depending on the sunlight for the milkweed. Great learning tool at a reasonable price. Plus you are aiding in the survival rate of Monarch butterflies.

EXCELLENT for raising Monarch butterflies!
I bought several sizes and two of this size for when my caterpillars were getting ready to become chrysalids. I use plastic containers for the small caterpillars til when they become stage 5 and ready to pupate. The tops of these give plenty of room for about 16-20 chrysalis's. However, when they eclose (hatch), I have another one of these right next to it and put the monarch in those when they have dried off and starting to walk around the top of the cage, stretching their wings. I put them in the second one that has no chrysalids because I don't want them to hurt their wings by hitting the other chrysalids nor do I want the other chrysalids to be disturbed. Also, having a second one allows me to take all the active butterflies out to release them without having to worry about the chyrsalids as they stay back home out of the sun. I LOVE the double zipper of these cages. I had an old one with one zipper and you have to be careful when you take out one butterfly to feed because suddenly it seems like the other ones find the opening! I love the 2 zippers because I can fit my hand in there just large enough to get the one butterfly to tag or feed and then able to quickly zip up the small opening. I love the double netting because it keeps even the smallest of gnats out. Item always arrived quickly, great communication with the seller and I always bought the different sized ones from this seller because they stand behind their work. One of my large ones came in cattywompus and they delivered a new one immediately! I just can't say enough about the seller. OH! The reason why I got the medium to giant size was if there was a lot of rain in the forecast for days, I was able to keep all of the butterflies happy by being able to let them exercise their wings and to be able to fly in the extra large one. The giant XL one is large enough to fit up to a pre-teen child, not that you will put your children in there of course! I love the convenience of being able to fold the cages inward to flatten them and then they pop out in a perfect cube every time. I traveled every weekend, an hour away and I would have to bring all my chrysalids in one small cube, the newest butterflies in the second small cube, the older ones in the medium sized cage, and brought the ginormous pop-up one so they could have a "play pen" like you would have one of those "fold and go" things for a toddler that you brought everywhere. Sorry to ramble on... hope this helps those who are helping to save the monarch populations. Only 3% of adult Monarchs make it to adulthood. The pop up laundry hampers that are cheaper, have holes that are too large and that could let in parasitic wasps and tachinid flies that will eventually kill the monarch by having maggots crawl out of the chrysalid. THATS why you need this container, the double netting wont let ANYTHING in. When the season is done, you can just pop close all the cages and put them away (after bleaching of course). Oh! and when I bleached (1 part bleach to 9 parts water), the color didn't bleach out! Not even a little bit!
