Good book overall
I liked this book because It’s artwork was amazing, as I also like the dark moody tone to the story. This books about a freshman named Melinda who faces a traumatic and never-forgetting event at a party. This books would be for people who like to watch gloomy and truthful, and a little bit of funny books. This books definitely worth trying out!

A missed opportunity….
….Don’t get me wrong; the MESSAGE behind this story(based on the author’s own experience as a young girl) is a much-needed and valid expose of the sexual predation rampant in many of our schools/colleges. But……the graphic novel itself? Too surface-skimming; small two page mini-snapshots that often lead nowhere and to my mind don’t do very much to further the actual premise. As well, the ending is just so unsatisfactory. //SPOILER ALERT\\: Those who were mean and cruel to the main character were never seen to be admonished nor punished, nor did they apologize to said main character. Too many loose ends, like the villain? We are never told what his punishment is. Never. It’s all so nebulous and garbled. What did I like? The art. I have read that the film with Kristen Stewart is a lot better, as well as the novel itself. Too bad, a missed opportunity.
