Great Deck for a Great Game
I like Ashes a lot, and while I don't get to play it very much I really like the new cards and the new die type. I think it is well worth $20-25 for these decks. I bought both, and I like the more reactive Song of Soaksend most, but the Law of Lions deck is also really good. My only nitpick is that only one dice power reference card is included per deck, rather than coming with a spare reference card like the core set has for each die type.

Great expansion
Powerful, but well balanced vs other decks

Good deck - value is slightly off though
I bought this deck because it looked really cool and the box that comes with the set is neat - its possible it could squeeze all Ashes cards in there including the dice (maybe) and tokens but you cant fit the rule book in with it so it falls short of consolidating the entire game into one neat little box.Notes on the deck itself:Pros- lots of healing cards and the ability Meteor, which deals 2 damage to all units as well as exhausts them (unless opponent pays one basic die for each that he doesnt want exhausted) is amazing! This resulted in me wiping my opponents board of 5 creatures instantly - but you have to be careful as your units will also take this 2 damage.Cons- Meteor is meant to take care of 'weenie' decks well (decks that can bring out a lot of low level/low cost monsters out quickly) but I found juggling getting rid of the enemies' monsters plus maintaining the resources to get mine out was hard. This deck has Winged Lionesses which cannot be guarded against when attacking so the strategy there is to pummel away the opponent's Phoenixborn as much and as early as possible with those and play the long game. I tried doing this but ended up dying because I had no more cards to draw on a new phase and my own Phoenixborn took too much damage as a result. It's a good deck but don't expect that the extra $10 you're spending on this is getting you any super OP cards - there are nice dime-dropping cards in this deck but the extra $ is really going towards the new die set and a fancy cardboard box.
