Great photographs. Good size and neat. Easy to use. Seems robust though haven’t tested its waterproof feature yet.

This was a present for my daughter to take on her world tour 1 yr career break. She will be in mountains, beaches, snorkelling etc and the TG7 is pretty much the top choice. By the time I’ve got her a few add ons such as the tele converter, filters, lights and batteries, it’s not cheap. From a few test shots to date it is sharp and easy to use. An ideal holiday camera, that is also used by a few professionals for field macro etc.

As I retired photographer I know how important it is to carry a camera around all the time ‘just in case’ that photo opportunity of a lifetime comes along. I also know I don’t want to be lugging heavy lumps of kit around. This camera is pretty much all I need. It’s rugged enough for me to throw in pockets, suitcases and backpacks. At 12mp the picture quality is good enough for most things. Battery life is good and it charges pretty quickly. There are enough functions on the camera to enable me to enjoy taking pictures without getting sidetracked. It’s certainly waterproof and is surviving the winter weather with no tantrums. Value for money is goo, especially when you compare it to the competition from other top manufacturers. I would recommend it if anyone asked.

Lovely camera except there is no decent instructions on how to connect camera to Bluetooth and Wireless on smartphone

Bought this camera as I wanted to be able to take photo's under the water on holiday, and without the worry of getting sand or water into my smartphone. Of the photo's you take, it is down to the skill of the photographer being able to find the subject in the right clarity of the water with the right type of light coming through. If you can afford it and want to bring back photo's of under the water or out and about rugged adventures you have, I highly recommend this. I also bought the LG-1 light guide for very close Macro at home on dry land, for this it is very good also. Sure many phones can take fantastic is photos, but for the versatility of being able to enter in many environments and not worry about "need to keep it dry and protected".. with this, just go anywhere and shoot! Camera takes video though I didn't use it for much of this, when snorkelling in a tidal current trying to keep the camera still and follow the wildlife is a challenge. There are many settings, but it is also as easy as point and click. Camera can also shoot in RAW. The OM software that you can download to your smart phone means that when on holiday you can take the camera on adventures (without worry), and then download the pictures to your smartphone when back at your base camp (hotel!) -then you can share them with Friends and family from your phone as normal! Things I bought as part of this investment were the camera, the LG-1 LED light guide, the floating wrist band, the hard case and a memory card. I have photo's and video's now that I would not otherwise have (including video's of turtles, dolphins and underwater aquariums + family members swimming underwater)

ok lets be honest its not a cheep camera but it is packed full of feetchures that you normaly find in larg dslr cameras so if your looking for a camera that can cover a host of diferent situations and still fit in a pocet this in my opinion is the one to buy you can even take it snorkling up to a depth of fifteen meters how good is that. great little camera

On looking for a small compact camera, to compliment my larger higher performance camera I came across the TG7 advertised at a really good price on Amazon. My main priority in obtaining a second camera is that I want a smaller compact camera that is able to take high quality photos in locations where my main camera is too large, in a way a ‘day to day’ camera to carry with me. I appreciate being a compact there will be a compromise on image quality compared to my main camera but as long as it at least as good as my mobile (S23 Ultra) approx. then this is fine. I prefer using a dedicated camera rather than my phone. On seeing the TG7 advertised I thought this would be spot on. There are plenty of You Tube videos showing the image quality is sufficient and being weatherproof this seemed like the perfect fit. I would not use it in the water as such but not having to worry about the elements is a massive plus and I also ride a motorbike as a hobby and thought having the durability of the TG7 would be a bit benefit. However, on receiving the camera and spending some time testing it I am afraid to say the image quality is poor. It was a dull rainy day and although I was not worried about the camera in the elements which was refreshing the pictures taken were well below the standard of my mobile phone, so I have returned the camera. It might have performed better on a brighter day…. My personal take on the TG7 is that is you need a waterproof outdoor camera first and foremost and you are willing to compromise on the image quality to achieve this then its good camera, solid, simple user interface, nice to use etc. but if you are like me and looking for a good camera first and durability second you may well be disappointed by the image quality. I have decided to spend more and obtain a better compact camera as this is my priority and this will mean I lose the weather protection on the TG7 but for me this is the higher priority.

Diseñada para actividades muy concretas, resulta que esta cámara, de OM System, antigua Olympus, sirve para muchas más cosas que actividades en la naturaleza, submarinismo o apoyo en trabajos de construcción. Y es que su estanqueidad, su resistencia y su diseño, de tamaño comedido pero que sienta bien a dedos grandes como los de un servidor, también la hacen buena para fotografía de calle o del día a día, quiero decir que es una cámara para llevarla encima siempre, o casi siempre, y es lo que hago. El hecho de que el objetivo no se extienda al encenderla o al enfocar es una gran ventaja para poder llevarla a todas partes en el bolsillo (cabe perfectamente en uno de camisa o de pantalón) sin que tengamos temor a que la extensión del objetivo pueda resultar en daños al mismo o en retrasos a la hora de tirar la foto. Como queda muy claro en sus características sobre el papel, no voy a citar sus muchas cualidades de cámara, vamos a decir, blindada, y menos la de sumergirla hasta quince metros, cosa que no he hecho ni voy a hacer puesto que no soy submarinista. Doy fe de que en lo demás se comporta exactamente como dicen. La he puesto bajo el grifo, eso sí, porque tenía curiosidad con el tema del agua, y salió bien. Ojo, que no se trata de sumergirla sin más y cuando acabemos guardarla y ya está: las instrucciones son muy claras, en menos de una hora desde el momento en que la hayamos sacado del agua es muy conveniente secarla bien con un paño siguiendo las instrucciones del manual, ya que esto nos ayudará a que la cámara dure y funcione correctamente. Tampoco la he dejado caer para comprobar que sea resistente a los golpes; esto lo vamos a dejar en un interrogante y, si tenemos mala suerte, ya veremos lo que pasa. La calidad de imagen, ¡ay la calidad de imagen! ¿Qué podemos esperar de un sensor pequeño, de 1/2.33"? Pues eso. Y, sin embargo, muchas fotos, en líneas generales, salen bien. Con buena luz, con ISO reducida, etc., la calidad de los jpeg que entrega es aceptable. Por mi parte, siempre tiro en doble formato, con algún filtro creativo para el jpeg de los muchos que trae y que son muy entretenidos, y en formato raw, para poder procesarlo luego con algún programa de revelado digital si el resultado del jpeg no me satisface. Proceso los archivos .orf, los raw que entrega esta máquina, con programas de revelado actualizados, unas veces con Lightroom, otras con Camera Raw en Photoshop, y, en otras ocasiones, y va muy bien para eliminar el ruido, con DxOPureRAW3, con plena satisfacción, y lo cierto es que en muchos casos la mejora con respecto a los jpeg es extraordinaria. Hasta el momento, con este sistema estoy contento. Es, pues, una más que aceptable segunda, o tercera, cámara, para quienes tenemos la fotografía como hobby máximo. La TG-7 es casi automática. Y digo casi porque, primero, no tiene modo M (manual completo) en el selector, ni tampoco modo S (prioridad a la velocidad); pero, segundo, sí que tiene modo A (prioridad a la apertura), aunque sea más el ruido que las nueces, porque las aperturas, dependiendo de la distancia focal, pueden elegirse de entre una escala muy pequeña (por ejemplo, en 25mm, que es el mayor angular, las posibilidades son tres: f/2, f/2.2 y f/8, no hay más opciones), cosa que hace que este modo, el único realmente no automático, sea muy poco práctico. El mejor modo, desde mi punto de vista, es el P (automático programado), pues con él seleccionado podemos actuar sobre la compensación de la exposición con la rueda superior, y la cámara selecciona de forma automática la velocidad y la apertura. Para foto de calle o instantáneas al uso, familiares y demás, creo que es una opción bastante buena. El modo AUTO (automático) puede ser una opción si no andamos muy finos en ese momento o no nos apetece andar cambiando la compensación de la exposición. Por otra parte, todo ello se compensa mediante las posibilidades que dan los modos SCN (escena), en el que podemos elegir entre muchas y muy buenas opciones, y MACRO (que tiene, a su vez, cuatro opciones de disparo muy bien traídas). Y hay que decir que el macro, con buena luz, es espectacular. En el dial de modos, hay dos opciones, C1 y C2, que nos permiten guardar, en cada uno, los parámetros de disparo que prefiramos, otra muy buena posibilidad de uso. Ahí tengo, en uno, un blanco y negro retro, y en el otro una posterización con colores muy vivos, por ejemplo. El modo vídeo también es configurable y los resultados son bastante correctos. No he comprado esta cámara para hacer vídeo, pero se agradece tener la posibilidad y que la calidad sea 4K. Eso sí, el ruido del zoom hace que o bien no lo podamos usar o que tengamos que sonorizar en posproducción. Y resumo diciendo que a pesar de ser una máquina bastante cara para lo que es desde el punto de vista fotográfico, sí que es interesante, no solo por sus muchas posibilidades como cámara del día a día o para fotos de calle, sino también por sus muchas cualidades de uso, más o menos prácticas, y no fotográficas, como su blindaje a agua y golpes, su posibilidad de uso con temperaturas no habituales, el hecho de que lleve GPS, altímetro, termómetro, etc. Y termino haciendo referencia a algo que no me ha gustado mucho, y es que, pese al elevado precio de la cámara, no trae adaptador a red eléctrica ni cargador. La batería puede cargarse dentro de la cámara, pero al no incluir un adaptador, nos veremos obligados a utilizar uno de un móvil o, si coincide en especificaciones técnicas, de otra cámara. En la caja solo vienen, con la cámara, la batería, el cable USB-C (que hay que usar siempre, sí o sí, de acuerdo con el manual, so pena de tener un disgusto), una pequeña correa de mano y el manual de inicio en papel, en tropecientos idiomas, entre ellos el castellano.

Camera zoom/shoot button book within 3 times of use. poorly made product and not durable at all. seller would nit return it over the 30 days as I didn't use it for a few weeks after getting it. stay away from it
