Zyxel N300 Wireless Cable Router for Gaming and Media with Two Omni 5 dBi Antennas [NBG418NV2]

tldr; Used as a 4 port wireless switch, kind of a pain to initially config, works wellI have some older media equipment that only have hardwire network ports, but no easy way to get a network cable from the switch to the equipment. So I used this configured to run as a wireless client which basically turns it into a 4 port wireless switch. The initial config was a bit of a pain but once I finally got it into the client mode it connected to my Ubiquiti AP Lite w/o an issue. I have two devices wired to it and both are able to access the network with no issues.

I know some people were complaining about the lack of Gigabit speed, but that's not what I bought it for. My four existing routers failed to get any half-decent signal out to the back corner of my detached garage. With this one, I can get about 15mbps all the way out there. Might not seem like much, but for a crappy old USB adapter talking to a super cheap router, that's great. I can finally watch my youtube instructions from underneath the car without risking my fragile smartphone.

i do not normally rate products - I just contact the supplier directly but this product is so poor I did not want someone else to get stuck with the issues we had and out of pocket expense. We were using these routers in small park units or manufactured homes where the clients are typically sitting in the same room as the router. The unit works fine for a few days to week and then the speed goes down to nothing even directly connect tv boxes die. Typically power cycle will clear this but not always. We had 12 of these that we are now stuck with them because it was longer than a month to verify it was really the routers - spent $10 more on Netgear units and had zero issues since. In addition the units are a little tricky to program but that was not much of an issue really. Please spend the e xtra $10 and but from a quality manufacturer, it was not worh the pennies in savings.

Zyxel packs a lot of features into a small package at a reasonable price. The documentation was clear and thorough in explaining the features and step by step to integrate the device into my network to extend my LAN and wi-fi coverage at a fraction of the cost of Xfinity pods and Google Wi-Fi.

It has more range and faster response than the one it replaced, works well with a camera in a barn that is over 100' away. I had a little trouble setting it up but when I switched to another browser it worked fine.

Good product

Was a pain to install. Seemed to work well enough at first. Started having latency issues after few weeks. To restart the router I had to unplug all Ethernet cables from ports. Contacted company about latency and they set up an RMA but wanted me to pay to ship it to them. Waste of money.

I have been using one of these as a Client Bridge for a solar camera setup. Unit has worked flawlessly for over 8 months in outdoor enclosed cabinet.These units are getting hard to find! I decided once I found a couple I would order 2 for backups. I have been configuring routers, cameras, Client bridges for years without issue.Pros: NoneCons: Was unable to acess the router through IP address 192.168.1.1. Spent 3 hrs with another tech with many years of experience we were never able to get acess to the router to configure.Opened second box and had the same result.Current unit I have in service had detachable antennas this was great and was able to change to a yagi beam to increase signal to a Ubiquity M2. Units ordered have fixed antennas.Returning both routers and searching other options for client bridge applications.

Es increíble que un router tan económico funcione tan bien y de manera tan estable.No tiene un alcance de WiFi tan amplio como otras marcas(mucho más caras) pero la configuración es sencilla y la estabilidad de la señal óptima

A differenza del WAP3205 v2 sempre di Zyxel che aveva smesso di funzionare (a dire il vero non ha mai funzionato bene!) con questo apparecchio la cui semplicità di configurazione è uno dei punti di forza, riesco a connettere il decoder MySKY HD a internet e a vedere i contenuti on demand senza problemi! Il segnale è molto più forte dell'altro apparato sopra menzionato, riesce a gestire bene apparati multipli connessi ed è ottimo anche per il gaming online: con XBOX 360 e XBOX ONE vado online perfettamente e senza alcuna interruzione. Rapporto qualità/prezzo eccellente!!!

Habe das Gerät als mobilen Router zum einrichten (Rollout) von Computern in der Schule angeschafft. Funktioniert tadellos! Tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!
