Love them.
Fitment: As someone who struggles with footwear due to the shape and wideness of my feet, these boots are a solid win in my book. I was able to order them in my actual size, without having to go up. One minor issue: The model for these boots was likely a wide foot with a higher arch. I did find them to be a little too spacious, as I have lower arches, but, I solved this problem with some cheap Dr. Scholl's inserts. What (minor) slippage I had was resolved. Weight: The boots are light weight. They feel like sneakers. They are as light as the Salomon Quest 4D's but fit me much better. Lacing: The laces are good quality, no bunching or breaking. I would have preferred metal aglets with metal speedhooks, but I can change these out later if I have any issues. Traction: No issues what so ever on the trail. I am confident when walking over smooth or wet rocks. Cushion: I have some bone spurs on my heels and these boots provided adequate cushioning on their own so I don't have any serious issues there. Waterproofing: They are not super water proof to be honest. They have a lot of ventilation and when treading through streams, your feet do get wet. They seem to dry fairly well if you're wearing the right socks (not cotton). Side Zipper: I originally wished there was a version without the side zipper, but I now see the merrits of the zipper system. They make it much easier to insert and remove your foot from the boot. I'm not sure whether the intention was a lace'n'forget system, using only the zipper afterwards, as I personally am unable to remove or insert my foot without unlacing the boots a bit. HOWEVER, I do not have to unlace the boots completely, and sometimes boots are hard to get on and off even when completely unlaced. With the zipper, the boots are really easy to get on and off. So far, I have had no issues with the zipper. I have put about 50km on them in rough terrain and they have not failed me. Overall: These are really solid boots. I am overally really satisfied with their construction and design. They are super comfortable and feel durable. You may run into issues with the plastic speedhooks later on, however.

Reliable After Months of Everyday Use
Merrell Men’s Moab 3 8" Zip Tactical Boots 10 1/2 Wide. I’ve been wearing these boots every day since November 2024, and they’ve performed exceptionally well. They are very comfortable and provide solid ankle support. The water protection is excellent—whether walking through rain, puddles, or snow, my feet stay completely dry. For an 8" tactical boot, they’re surprisingly lightweight. I can walk long distances and even sprint when needed without any discomfort. Overall, I’m very pleased with them and remain a fan of the Merrell Moab line. I previously wore the Moab 2 for about three years of rugged use, and the Moab 3 continues that same reliability and quality.

Excellent boots, very comfortable, but be careful with size
I have had these Merrill MOAB 3 boots for two weeks, and after putting several miles on them I must say that they are about the most comfortable boots for walking, both on pavement and in the woods, I have ever owned. They are light, soft stepping, stable and supportive, and are claimed to be waterproof (though I have not yet tested them for that). I purchased them for outdoor activities that involve lots of walking and standing, occasionally on wet and soggy ground, and I am confident they will serve well in that use. That said, I do have two observations: This is actually my second pair as the first pair I received were far too large. I have several pair of perfectly fitting Merrell walking shoes in size 9W, so that is what I ordered with these Merrell boots. They turned out to be far too large, with more than an inch of extra room in the toe, and too much room on the sides. The good news is that Amazon makes the exchange easy, and three days later I received a pair in size 8 ½ W. These are also just a little too large, and an 8 Wide or Regular would probably be better, but I’m trying to make do with thicker socks. Still this variance in sizing from the same manufacturer was surprising. The product information seems to infer that, with a side zipper, they can be put on and removed without having to deal with the laces. I found this to not be the case. They can be removed by opening the zipper, but if they’re laced tight enough to fit properly, there is no way I can get my feet into them with the zipper open. What I found is that if I leave the zipper open, tighten the laces as with any other boots, and then pull up the zipper, I get a good, snug and supportive fit around the ankle.

Great boots
Great set of boots. I buy a new set every year because I use them for construction work. They are very comfortable, I get the wide because it makes it not so tight on my feet. Will continue to order year after year. Best boots I’ve had for work hands down. So, when I see people posting poor quality, I’m get confused. Are they talking about the same boots?

COMFORTABLE. SNUG. AGGRESSIVE SOLES. LIGHTWEIGHT. EXPENSIVE.
I've been wearing combat boots for most of my adult life ( military and law enforcement) and although I've only had these for one day, i really like them so far. They feel very snug. For someone with large/wide feet, you may want to order a wide width or a larger size. Despite their large, clunky appearance, they are fairly light weight. Nicely made, comfortable. The soles are nice, with a aggressive look and nice grip. The only real downside, aside from snug fit (for those for whom this is a problem), is the price. They are rather expensive. But as I always advise rooky officers and new soldiers, don't chintz on your boots. (for some reason VALUE FOR MONEY autopopulates on the review, this is inaccurate. expensive boots)

They are extremely comfortable, quality of the boot appears amazing and they are very nice and wide! They feel more like a sneaker as they are so very light and you cannot feel the cold snow or ice through these boot so they are great as a winter boot! Highly recommend these boots

El número es amplio, lo cual es perfecto para llevar calcetas de invierno. Son muy calientes, ideales para un ambiente frío. Muy resistentes pero increíblemente cómodas. Las uso para caminos muy técnicos y no han tenido ningún problema.
