UV light is a must have for your tank. This bulb works perfect with the filter I already had. The UV keeps the alge at bay. I have 3 aquatic turtles and that means a lot of tank cleaning. The UV bulb is so easy to install and makes an impact on tank clarity very quickly. Plugged it in and by the morning the tank was so much clearer.

*UPDATE*I will be returning this, as I've had it running for three days straight in my tank filter, and it has not cleared up the water one bit. I'm disappointed, as I thought it might be useful, but it's not done what it's supposed to. The last photo is from just now, three days after installation.I ordered the wrong filter instead of a different listing I liked better, but I'm giving this one a try. The first photo is from when I installed the light in my filter yesterday, the second photo is today after 26 hours of running the light, and the third is the box itself. So far there's been no difference at all, but I'll give it another day to see about a proper change. If there's no change, I'll update my review and return for a refund.

Seems to work just fine, my water is crystal clear with no smell anymore. I will be purchasing another one for our other 55gal tank.

The price is competitive works really well but be aware definitely put these lights on a timer if you have them on 24/7 they will not last the year they claim

I put this on the inside of my filter, all my fish are dead the next day when I went to feed them, I do not recommend this for any tank as I lost $100 in fish. not all my fish were seen with the camera, as they were hidden in the plants and hiding spots, 11 fish total dead. It has been running for about 14 hours to try n clean the cloudy water overnight.

Works great. I had green water algae bloom and a with this light a good filter and no light for a week to clear the water.
