This is creative, amusing, and informative. In the few minutes, it took me to read through it, I managed to get learn more about ChatGPT than in weeks of fit and start learning.It is well written. The brevity belies the research that must have gone behind to present the material so succinctly. The prompt examples are excellent. They were the perfect seed for letting my imagination run loose.Overall, I thoroughly recommend this short read. I am a bit biased, as I am a fan and regular reader of Mr Agarwal's cartoons in the Times of India newspaper.

This slim 70 page book explains ChatGPT through simple text and amusing cartoons. Don't let the lighthearted approach fool you - this is a pretty comprehensive explanation. Divided into 8 sections after the introductory "what is ChatGPT" section, Sunil Agarwal and Ian Baker cover applications, limitations, jobs & skills, money, technology, misuse, issues, and the future. Sprinkled throughout are 100 cartoons, many laugh out loud funny. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about ChatGPT without wanting to go through a lot of heavy, technical material.

This book is an up-to-the-minute primer on the fundamentals of the incredible technologies that are pervading our world at this moment in time. The language is clear and concise, and enables somebody who has no idea what these technologies are about to gain an in-depth understanding of the Why, What, Who and How of generative AI. The cartoons are humorous and delightful, getting to the heart of many of the amusing, and sometimes terrifying dilemmas that await us as we venture into this brave New World. Highly recommended!

This is a virtual guide to ChatGPT. It answered questions I wanted to ask and some I didn't even know I should be asking. The insight on the topic was great. The cartoons seemed very apt and conveyed everything in very few words. Loved the book.I have always enjoyed Sunil's cartoons and this was n o exception

The cartoons were cute and 2 made me snort. Several made me think. The little cavemen ones are saying pro and con points about AI. He says if you want copies of the cartoons, use the paid service.The text has that AI tone of circling repeatedly around a topic, using broad nonspecific terms and a "rote" or mechanical feel. This is definitely not by a professional writer but the author says he isn"t so I can tolerate some flaws in order to read something that appears very current. I did note the few examples of AI in politics were prior to 2021, which is when ChatGPTs dataset ends. I wonder if research tools outside of ChatGPT were used. He does get points for reporting his use of AI and says he checked on accuracy. So a good role model there. Just wish his use had been disclosed in the books description om Amazon and at the beginning of the book rather than the end. But he is doing better than many so thanks.If you are looking for a distillation of issues around AI, you can google or chatGPT for an overview. There was nothing reqlly new in the text after the first chapter for any layperson who has been interested in AI and read press articles. The first chapter sounds most human.After the first chapter it read like a pingpong match--a long series of these exciting visions in a list and then these dangers in a list. Repeat about 4 times. Just use a chat bot to generate a few lists and skip the text. It seemed like he was trying to get enough pages to call it a book. There was no analysis by a human. Just ping ping ping ping then pong pong pong pong. An editor may have helped him to consolidate lists and explore each topic in more depth. Then to reach a conclusion or recommendations about that area, move on to the next topic.A tech editor is needed for the Kindle version. It is readable but there are disfluencies in font size [huge heading] that simply take up space. See 4th photo for typical example. [that reminded me of students trying to achieve a page count by increasing font size.] It is 71 pages. With editorial quality control it might be 15 pages plus cartoons. A bit of the code is visible [see image 1 and on that same image notice the author name vs description font discrepancy--something was copied and pasted and hidden codes came along]. A table important to the text lost all formatting [3rd picture]. I added the highlighting to make it readable. I managed to read the whole thing in a liesurely 40 minutes.Buy it if you like cartoons and a visual experience, want a crude overview and it is 2$. Dont buy it if you already know an introductory level about AI, hate jumping around visually [on a Kindle] and the aesthetics of The Book are important to you. In short, the author did best what he is practiced at--cartoons and needs help on tighter writing that doesnt just rely on lists. A repeat kudos on revealing use of AI-encouraging that may be worth buying the book [plus the cartoons] vs a book that doesnt do that.

This is worth buying just for the cartoons. The narrative collects many examples of how ChatGPT can be used as a counselor or consultant, and also of the pitfalls of doing so.

This book is a real eye opener. From the outset Sunil's grasp of the issues AI raises is impressive. The book, despite it's brevity, metamorphosed me from being utterly ignorant in this field to having some semblance of knowledge. It is a 2023 release so the information is current from an oracle of information technology. The book is clearly laid out in relevant sections including uses and misuses of ChatGPT. The prose flows smoothly, and mercifully avoids technical jargon, making reading easy. Great prep course for the laity, while we await the next technology revolution. Highly recommended.
