Supernatural - Season 1-9 [Blu-ray] [2015] [Region Free]

Much belated but finally available, Seasons 1-9 of the super-fantastic SUPERNATURAL series are here. Housed in a glossy, sturdy slide-off box set, featuring all 195 episodes, plus special features, all Seasons are 4-disc sets (except for Season 3 which, being the shortest, is spread over 3 discs), presented in regular-sized, clear blue amaray cases. Each Season contains all the episodes and special features from the separate blu-ray season releases (except for Easter eggs and some image galleries), and comes with an inside booklet listing credits and summaries. With Season 10 set for a September DVD/blu-ray release this box set is much delayed, but it is absolutely worth buying, especially if you are missing previous Seasons, or if you want to have them all together. The price is great, too, for a brand new item of such pristine quality in every aspect, especially when considering that buying all 9 Seasons separately would cost twice as much. We had Supernatural seasons 1 to 7 on DVD and my teenage daughter lost three seasons being overgenerous loaning to school friends. So we thought it nicer to spend a bit more at £74.25 for all 9 seasons on this hi-def Blu-ray set rather than buying the five missing seasons as DVDs. Plus this Blu-ray boxed set is very compact, being the same size as 9 standard DVD cases stacked together (with 35 Blu-ray disks in all, total run time 8,205 minutes or 137 hours). As well as the Blu-ray extras you also get all the episode titles with their plot descriptions printed on the inner cover of the cases. The first episode of Supernatural premiered on September 13th 2005, with Season 10 airing between October 2014 and May 2015 in the US, and season 11 due to start screening later this year (2015). Our boxed set came direct from Amazon, and the Blu-rays are most likely ABC region free as described in the listing, because despite being clearly UK Blu-rays not US, there's no mention of regions at all on the box or disks. There's no Ultraviolet streaming or PC digital copy download options with this Blu-ray set, just the Blu-ray disks.Others here have given the Season 1 to 9 Blu-ray details, the only thing I would add is that it's well worth continuing beyond season 5's apocalyptic finale (when the show was originally envisaged to end), as we have enjoyed the later seasons 6 to 9 just as much as the earlier episodes. Can't say much more without massive spoilers. So if like us you didn't follow the later seasons or are new to Supernatural don't worry too much about the show running out of steam. You do actually get what it says on the box: "Join Winchester brother's Sam and Dean for the ultimate road trip into the world of the supernatural .. .. The brothers travel America's backroads to save the world from evil, learn the secrets of their destiny and restore balance between Heaven, Hell and their family ..." Although of course you can guarantee that everything will go t*ts up again by the beginning of the next season. A superb series firmly set in a Charmed, Buffy and Angel type universe, and well worth hitching a ride with, so 6*. Age rated just 15, it has some pretty gory moments though, and I find it far scarier than 18 rated  Misfits  (which probably gets its age 18+ rating for profuse swearing & occasional drug use rather than the number of times you hide behind the sofa). So "You take the cellar Dean, and I'll take the attic". Typical Supernatural quote: Dean "Well, I don't know. What'd you find in the attic?". Sam, "Some old junk. I found Rebecca's diary. That's about it". Dean "I wish you'd found a howitzer. Listen, we got to get this family safe" (Family Remains, Season 4 ep. 11).Supernatural Trivia: When series creator Eric Kripke (born 1974) was originally writing the show he wanted to give the boys an American muscle car, because as a kid all his favorite 1980's TV shows had signature cars (e.g. Knight Rider, Magnum PI & The Dukes of Hazzard). The black 1967 Chevrolet Impala was not his first choice for Dean & his dad John Winchester though, that was a 1965 Ford Mustang. However his neighbour said it had to be a '67 Impala, 'because you can easily fit a body into the trunk. You want a car that, when people pull up next to it at the lights, they lock their doors.' ..

Good quality box set of every episode from series 1 to 9. Even better is that many of the episodes contain extended & not seen on tv scenes so gives you a little extra if you have watched the show before on tv.I never got to watch this program when it started so its been great to watch it from the beginning and getting a real understanding of the whole story.So, as the title suggests, there are alot of supernatural things going on throughout each episode so if you like the spooky, ghoulish, bloody, demonic and frightening type of tv this box set is fantastic.Shockingly Gruesome. I was amazed that so much was allowed to be shown on tv, it must have been great and scary for those who got to watch it when first shown.Highly Recommended.

WOW - ordered this yesterday evening from Dublin Ireland and it arrived the morning after. I am extremely impressed. Now I can watch this over the weekend. I haven't seen season 9 yet so I am very VERY happy to have this for the weekend.This show is amazing. I have watched it so much that the first seasons dvds are skipping so I thought I would upgrade the whole lot to Blu-ray and have them all in a nice bunch together.

A complete bargain for this most excellent series. I had not seen any episodes on Tv, but was hooked from the very first episode. Travel America with Sam and Dean, on the search for their father, as they encounter all kinds of demons, ghosts and every other kind of weird creature. Every episode will leave you wondering what's next and with 9 seasons in this set it will keep you going for some time.
