Top dollar strobe tuner with an exception.
Firstly I'm not going to go into great detail what this tuner is capable of doing as there are already a great many reviews out there. The USB connection socket on my device is a mini micro connection and the design of the unit was probably pre USB C.Many already know how fiddley this socket can be connecting to, and so easy to get the plug matched to the socket the wrong way around thus damaging the socket.A good way of making sure this never happens is to mark both plug and unit with a dab of quick drying nail polish. Not everyone realises that the USB plug itself usually has a raised USB symbol, moulded into the top of the USB plug. This will always face towards you when connecting to the unit which should also be facin towards you.Either mark the socket and plug, or purchase a USB Mini Micro to USB C adaptor. This particular machine i will say the instructions mention nothing about the USB connection, I failed to find anything that mentioned what connection it was.Staring down into the USB connection it was quite difficult to make out what socket it was because the socket was wonky and partly hidden where it had not been positioned correctly at the factory it was built/assembled.This was shoddy workmanship.Better instructions might be found at the vendors website, I haven't checked there personally but if you have a problem that is first port of call.Secondly for the price of the unit Peterson doesn't even include a USB lead!!If a unit is supplied with a USB connection then the company must always, always supply the lead in the box as standard. Its a little like supplying a unit with mains and not including the mains cable with the assumption many will already have the cable, "Do Not Make Assumptions"Constuction:Made of plastic, the actual stalk that the tuner display sits on, Prime Snap off Territory.Just take care with it as its liable to snap here if ever caught or hit on something when attached to the guitars headstock. "It is what it is" Guaranteed this will happen to someone.Otherwise yes its a brilliant tool as well for set ups, yes goes to sleep but wakes up soon as a string is tapped.Intonation tests with this are stable and perfect for this sort of set up recommended. No vibration or sound detected briefly the unit's display closes, but soon as it detects life the screen immediately responds. If left unused for say one minute the unit will switch off altogether to save on battery. It's easy to switch it back on.I trust with future units the USB Socket is changed out for a C connection as the lead can be connected up or down side.Shoddy workmanship on the USB socket, but overall a near good quality unit but definitely a good hands free strobe tuner.

Brilliant love it
Had a few different tuners and they all done a very good job, thought i would give this ago so sent for it and it arrived next day, I had just finished tuning my banjo with the snark silver, but thougt I would still give it ago and was suprised that how far out of tune i still was, there was a big difference that i could actually hear my banjo sounds a lot better, now it sounds proper build quality seems fine but like anything you knock it about you gonna break it functionality buttons are a tad tricky as they are pretty small but it does the job and a very good job it does

Easy to read, highly accurate and offers sweetened tunings.
Price is a bit heavy but this is an easy to read tuner that also allows a whole variety of tunings. With the usual headstock tuners, it can be difficult to see when the indicator is centred and because I'm red/green colour blind it's not easy to see red off-tune indications. The Peterson tuner uses a rotating display which stops moving when the instrument is in tune; very easy to use. I leave mine set to sweetened tunings, which tunes the strings a few cents short on the actual note and gives a more pleasant sound. That's a subject which others can google.Probably the best accessory I've bought for my guitars, over many years.

Sweetened tuning.
I like it for the ‘sweetened’ guitar tuning, it’s very subtle but the strings seem to blend more evenly. Though not maybe theoretically correct in practice it’s a better fit for my archtops. But really how long in ‘tune’ does an instrument remain given changes in temperature, humidity and playing habits, its a bit of a phantom we are chasing. (At one time, playing a gig in Jamaica, it was so humid even my tuner couldn’t pick out the notes, scared me half to death). A fault I find with this tuner is the lack of means to store it. With the also exceptional ‘TC Electronics’ tuner the shipping box doubles for that, here I was expecting something similar. A range of ‘A’ tunings, including the much discussed A432 would also have been a nice feature.

Best tuner I have
I have several tuners used mainly for Ukulele & the like. This make and model is by far the best of those I have. In fact it is so good, this is now my 3rd one and I don't think I would now change brands, even though it is a more expensive than others. In my opinion it is worth it for the extra accuracy. It easy to use & has the capacity to ultra tune my Ukes. The small screen is also very bright with clear info shown. All in all a great tuner.

Pleasantly surprised
I really didn't need another tuner. I have the TC polytuner, the boss TU and various others....but I do like gadgets and this strobe tuner promises so much functionality! Of course 90% I won't use but still, somehow I had to have it. Well, you do don't you?So, it does what it says and is well made but the surprise is just how accurate it is. I can hear a difference for the better using the sweetened tuning. Its subtle but definitely there. The capo setting i thought I wouldn't need I use all the time. That function alone makes this a worthwhile purchase for me.The display is clear in all lighting situations and menu system is logical. At this price it is a luxury, a much cheaper tuner will still do a good enough job, but if you want to treat yourself and have a mix of instruments, frequently move capo position or change tunings then you won't regret buying it. Highly recommended.
