There is always one nail which is awkward to get to, difficult to cut, or whatever. That's why I wanted these. I lost the really good pair that I had somewhere along the line (infuriating!) and needed a replacement. These are not as easy to use as the old pair, but they do the job.

Bought these to cut my elderly cats claws which had become very thick. Have always cut the cats claws since a kitten so she was used to it but with age the claws became increasingly thickened and our normal cutters would not accommodate the girth. These being open ended and very sharp and well built did the job without stressing the cat.

A few other reviewers mentioned them being blunt, but they are sharp enough to do the job of cutting my cat's talons that I couldn't with a typical nail clipper.I do think they could have been a bit sharper though, for both a cleaner cut and to make it easier especially when cat-wrangling.

Dog not scared if these clippers, yes!

They shattered my dog's claws as they aren't sharp enough to cut butter. I stopped after two claws because it made a mess of both of them.

My little rescue has long quicks, nails that grow under and very hairy feet. The usual dog clippers won’t work. These clippers are brilliant, easy to use and ideal for hairy breeds.Great clippers for the money
