Very handy for 3D printed parts
This came in free of charge through the Amazon Vine program. I’ve had no direct contact with Amazon Vine or the manufacturer and these opinions are my own.So far I have used these mostly on plastic and a little brass. I have found them to be exceptionally handy for 3D printed parts. I will model holes to be threaded a little on the small side and drill/tap the holes with these bits. Makes for quick and easy perfect threads every time.

limited to 1/4" material
Using this in material that is more than 1/4 inch thick results in the drill being driven down by the tap. I also struggled to remove the bit without cross-threading the hole if I allowed the tap to go all the way through. I think this is probably a problem on all drill-taps. I think it would make sense to have the threads go all the way up the tap to make sure the tap doesnt run through the hole. I am switching to separate drills and taps

Convenient to use
This set is very useful and convenient for my applications. I use it for making threads in light materials like aluminum, copper, and plastic. The ability to combine the drilling and tapping in one operation is a great feature of these tools. They work well and save time on tool changes. The set has also good selection of popular thread sizes. It is a good value for its quality and the purpose.

Nice drill and tap combo set for small metric bolts
I bought this set for drilling and tapping repetitive holes in metal plate. I really like being able to drill and tap in a single pass, and then just reverse the drill to quickly extract and move on to the next hole. They don't work very well in a drill press since you can't normally reverse it (at least not mine), but you can back them out by hand if needed. No stars for the drill press use as I knew that going in and that isn't what they are made for, just something worth mentioning. I don't think these are quite as nice as my more expensive drill bits, but for the price, I didn't expect that either. All in all, they seem to do the job well.

Like butter!
We tested on aluminum first and then on 1/8” plate mild steel and it went through like butter. Nice threads. Super convenient. But looks undamaged. Great set!

Great for a hobbyist
Tapping something that is made of plastic, resin, wood or aluminum would be just fine. I had to use these to tap a larger hole in piece of aluminum strut, were a bolt stripped the threading. That worked fine. Would this work on steel? Maybe on mild steel, but I wouldn't try it..

A simple solution
These tapping bits work pretty nicely. The tip of the bits don't seem to cut steel all that aggressively, so I drill a pilot hole close to the final size and let the bit finish it. To prevent the threads getting mangled, I cut the threads using my variable-speed drill, turning very slowly. With that, it cuts threads quickly and cleanly. These bits are handy for quick threading.
