Comfortable, durable and sturdy
Very comfortable fit. Long enough and breathable. The band around the top of the sock is not thin and very sturdy. They don’t fall down causing you to have elephant feet while wearing. They are kind of slippery. Wouldn’t recommend walking down steps without shoes on. They go good with dress shoes and can be worn as knee highs with a long dress. They also don’t make your feet sweat.

Great trouser socks!
For a stipend, I was asked to provide a concise and sincere review of the black trouser socks that I ordered. After reading previous reviews of these trouser socks, I decided to give them a try. Please note: the problems that I had with the stockings are noted in the next paragraph and have to do with my size and NOT the quality of the stockings or with the seller, therefore, I did not contact the seller. Overall, they are awesome trouser socks! One of the previous comments stated that they were tight for those with thick legs. Well, what is considered thick? My calves are 22 inches around, and they were difficult to pull up over them, and then when they were pulled up over my calves, they were tight and slightly painful. They did not roll down at all, but I had to put them down and just wear them at my ankles. In my opinion, they would probably fit better if your calves are 20 inches around or less.In regards to the color, they are fairly opaque, and much more opaque than what is on the packaging, but not as opaque as tights. They are sewn along the tip toe line (which is also reinforced), so for those that don't like the feel of the seam line on their toes, either find a different trouser sock, or do what I do and just wear them inside out. (For the record, wearing them inside out or right side out makes no difference on whether or not they stay up as they do not have anything that would help them stay up, but I had no problems with them staying up when I wore them pulled up.)They are quite durable too! I wear four pair on a rotating basis, and they get washed in the washer twice a week. Since the seller also asked for them to be thoroughly tested, I decided to dry them in the dryer as well. (They are washed and dried in a lingerie bag.) They hold up quite well! I have one trouser sock that has a small hole (less than 1/4 inch) with two small runs (less than one inch in length) that is near the seam that occurred when I stubbed my toes on a piece of wood. Despite being run through the washer and dryer several times, neither the hole nor the runs have gotten any bigger. Since they are relatively small, I just continued to wear it because it is hidden in my shoe. Also, I am hard on my trouser socks. They are worn every day, even around the house without shoes on. When I am working, I am on my feet a good amount of the time, and the shoes do not snag them. They are also quite comfortable to wear as well. High recommended!

Decent Quality but Inconsistent Fabric, Tight Fit
I purchased the 6-pack assorted colors of the trouser socks. The set of 6 came with 3 black pairs, 1 brown, 1 dark navy, and 1 dark gray. They seem to be of decent quality and are heavier than hose, but still almost sheer. However, they are very tight on the calves and barely came up to my knee. I have to really stretch them to sit comfortably under my kneecap, so I would prefer them to be a bit longer. Also, I am thin and have small calves, but these are so tight they are almost like compression stockings and the band under the knee is tight. The good part about this is that they stay up! They do stretch a little bit when you've had them on a while, but they don't really seem too stretchy when putting them on. Also, on several pairs there were faint striations (like light and dark stripes) in the nylon that almost looked like runs in the material. Some of these were vertical and ran the length of the sock, and others were horizontal like a band encircling the ankle. See photos. I determined the light and dark areas were just an inconsistency in the weave, and they weren't runs, but the horizontal bands were particularly unsightly. Since I wear these under pants it wasn’t a deal breaker, but it might be of a consideration if you want to wear these with a skirt like knee-highs. All in all, I decided to keep the socks but would probably try a different brand next time.Update: I have only worn a couple of the pairs since purchase, but one got a hole and a run starting at the toe the first time I wore them.
