The Improvement of the Mind (Classic Reprint) Paperback – August 24, 2018

In spite of the antique language this is a terrific book. I bought it upon hearing that Michael Faraday as a lad was greatly influenced by it. Faraday seems to have followed Watt's advice closely and became the seminal discoverer of basic electromagnetic phenomena. Reading it myself, I could not avoid the fact that this book's advice to the modern student, or anyone wanting to learn efficiently, is golden. Someone will update the language and have a very successful new book. Meanwhile, Isaac Watts will do the trick. Looking at his importance during his time strongly suggests he took his own advice.

A very good book to learn not only how to debate but how to set up arguments for debates as well as theology discussions.

The content is great. the printing not so great. It appears to be a photo copy of an original print that some pages hd been highlighted, this made them hard to read.

Good to read the truth from different minds. This book proves Isaac Watts someone gifted with truth from God (although our definitions on that subject might differ.)

Very useful approaches that can be followed.

You will appreciate what Watts has to say, but perhaps not always how he gets around to it (fairly common for the 1700's). I enjoyed the punny names he created for his examples in each chapter. Clearly he longed to see young people trained in a Biblically appropriate manner. On a negative note, had to create my own table of contents.

Highly recommend that you look elsewhere for this book. The print quality here is extremely poor. Most pages look like Xerox copies. As you can see from the images, some pages look like a page turning others have large amount of text missing.

This book is made for studying. Reading it slow will reap the benefit of the instructions.Enough knowledge in there for the voracious reader to apply to every aspect of their daily life.

Not the best quality reprint but still fairly readable and worth the effort
