For the price is is adequate. However, the Ego designs will work better, but are much more expensive. As a person with a great deal of knowledge, the rated capacity, in this case 5.0Ah does not mean that the cell used in this battery will work like the Ego 5.0Ah version. Both will meet 5.0Ah in rating if used at a very low drain rate, however Ego tools require a very high drain rated (amount of power delivered to the motor). The cheaper alternatives, such as this will not compare in operational time with the OEM designed Ego battery of the same rating 5.0 Ah. But the battery does work well enough for less demanding work (less minutes of operation). I don't work for Ego, but I am in the battery business, and manufacture LiION batteries. In general, Off brand power tool batteries (with lower pricing) will typically not perform as well as the OEM provide with their products. With this off brand product I could have other concerns, but so far all has been OK, especially the price.

This battery worked great the first time I used it. After 3 uses, it won't even finish my back yard, and now it doesn't charge. Waste of $100.

I am really pleased with this battery -- so much so that I bought another one. It works really well with my EGO equipment and charger and lasts a really long time. I would highly recommend.Update: One of the batteries that I bought charged ok but refused to shut off. Amazon immediately replaced the defective one with a new one within 24 hours...the replacement works great.
