A step up from the Diamonds
I have tried the Diamond 220 , good budget speakers with down firing bass port that proved to be flexible on placement. I needed speakers for a small room and would be tight to walls and corners they appeared to be the solution. They need a good few hours running in so with-hold your full judgement until at least 100 hours or more. But they are a massive step up from the Diamonds in my opinion. More details than the 9.1 and far less of the brashness of the diamond 220 whilst still being exciting - they just sound way more balanced , beautiful clarity without ever sounding tiring to listen to. I also prefer them over the monitor audio BX2 by quite some margin.Sound is natural , they don't artificially enhance this or that which can sometimes kind of give you a quick wow followed by finding them wearing on the ears. No these just play the music in such a composed and enjoyable way that they kind of creep up on you and the more you listen the more you love them. The details are there , the bass is just right , the mid ranges are enthralling - I won't be changing these anytime soon. Found to be a good match for a variety of equipment.I can't fault them in any way. Have tried with QED silver cables and Chord Clearway and found the Chord to be the keeper.A superb speaker.
