upon opening - you are met with a fairly nicely designed product
Firstly, upon opening - you are met with a fairly nicely designed product, feels a little flimsy on the front (plastic) and a harder more sturdy plastic at the back (where the controls are). You can clearly see the sensor on the front, similar to other Stoog products with the same feature. The back of the product actually has a battery compartment, which is neither use nor ornament here, as this is a rechargeable device which can be recharged using the supplied USB cable (but no USB plug - we have to provide that) and plugged into a PC or anything with a powered USB slot. The fixings that come with the device are as follows:2 x Sticky 3M Pads2 x Screws2 x Wall PlugsYou can either a.) use the pads and stick the back to whatever you want (strong 3M pads are always safe!), or b.) drill two small holes and put the wall plugs in, and then screw the back battery compartment plate to your wall. You then can remove the back from this plate to recharge (same for when using the pads)Now, the only negative to this, and the reason for FOUR stars instead of five is that its quite cumbersome to remove and replace the whole unit each time you want to charge the unit, and it took me a few minutes each time, with forehead upto the wall to try and gauge the slots where I need to slide (when removing) or push (replacing on wall) onto the plate to make it secure again.Turning on is easy as flipping a switch, there are three options here:-(see images for a more detailed look)OFF (self explanatory)ON (same again)SENSORAgain, if not set to SENSOR, its quite cumbersome to reach behind and flip the switch on/off without having knocking the item off the wall. I guess with time that will get easier?I do worry though that if it does fall, the white plastic at the front (the plastic which helps disperse the light) would break, hopefully that doesn't happen.Overall, its not a bad product, but neither is it exceptional either, slightly over priced in my opinion at the moment, and maybe for say £5, this would be an ideal choice for many, but double that, and its a tad expensive for what it is.The light itself isnt too bright, but light enough for seeing where you need to go at night say, or as a night reading light its quite effective (if right close to you and your material that is).Looks: 3/5Useage: 3/5Overall: 4/5
