In my opinion, these torches are the best you can buy. We have one in the house, and one in the car. They are pretty huge (which I love - you can't easily misplace it!), really solid and very bright. Batteries last reasonably well and, if absolutely necessary, they make great batons to chase intruders with. It is obvious why they are so popular with police and security firms. Buy two and you'll never need another torch.

I ordered my 6D Maglite in May 2010, and it's been fantastic since day 1. It's still running on the first lot of batteries I put in, and I bought the LED bulb insert to boost that even further (165 hours instead of ~10) in Halfords for about £15. A belt loop for this thing is a godsend - it gets pretty heavy after a while of lugging it around. Bought one on Amazon not long after buying the torch, only complaint is if I run with the torch holstered then it cracks off my knee pretty painfully! I keep the torch beside my bed, so if someone breaks into the house I've got that ready. Gets used quite often for camping trips and the like, highly recommend having one to anybody that goes camping or just wants a good, solid torch that'll always work. 10/10.

always had maglite in the past, but the LED technology has left them behind, if you combine this with the replacement LED upgrade, then it is a top torch and gives an added security knowing that one crack from this torch filled with 6 D cell batteries would probably knock anybody out, so ideal for checking out my garden after dark top tip, get your Duracell batteries from B&M you pay only £1 a battery

I bought this product as a gift for my husband. He LOVES it. This is a quality product with great battery life, even though it is very bright. A heavy and sturdy torch.

Despite being a very large torch it is surprisingly easy to use. I fitted an LED bulb and the light quality is brilliant. I have thought about buying a Maglite for a long time and now wish I had bought this years ago. It is not cheap but it is a top quality product and should outlast me.

good torch but better with led conversion which Is 50 quid solid well built and also has a security aspect to with 6 d batteries inside more a police or security guard torch,i have one for camping simply because the 6 d batteries and the led bulb means it lasts for hours

La lampe est comme décrite. De la qualité, solide et durable. L'éclairage est correcte mais il ne vaut pas celui d'une lampe tactique. Attention à la taille.La 6D est vraiment énorme. Difficile de la loger dans un véhicule. Faite attention à l'usage que vous vous voulez en faire avant de l'acheter.

Finalmente trovata una torcia 'classic' style come non se ne fanno più, purtroppo. Pesante il giusto e con un fascio di luce davvero molto penetrante. Certo, non è da cruscotto in macchina ma se vi trovaste immersi nella natura come è successo a me per un lavoro (fotografia), o in campeggio, potrete sicuramente apprezzarne le autentiche qualità di torcia professionale. Unica precauzione: se la temperatura è bassa non lasciatela a terra per troppo tempo perché il case in alluminio si raffredda davvero tanto è le batterie ne risentono.

This is a terrific flashlight. A bit long and heavy for most practical to carry around. Great around the house as a flashlight. I did an LED modification for it. I bought a kit on Amazon for this. The LED modification was a great improvement over the classic type bi-pin lamp that it comes with. The bi-pin lamp by standard for a flashlight was of terrific performance to begin with. There is a focus adjustment that allows to make the illumination in to a very tight bright beam, or to allow it to be more of a flood. I leave it in the sharpest possible beam. The ambient light spill to the sides of the beam alone is strong enough to nicely light up the room. The modified LED focused bream can light light up a reasonable size area from over five hundred feet away with no problem. As for this Mag 6 D Cell flashlight, it is of super deluxe quality as like Mag flashlights are expected to be. With the LED modification that I used this flashlight should be able to operate for at least 80 hours or more. It is so bright that it is impossible to look in to the front of it while turned on. It can cause temporary blindness and eyesore for a while. This is great for protection in case of an intruder. If the light beam does not blind the intruder than nothing will!!! Because of the tight beam focusing of the LED light, I measured at 1 Meter with a LUX meter just under 42,000 Lumens. This is extremely bright! I also have a few of the Mag 2AA, 4D, and few of the 3D, all with the LED modification. They are all terrific flashlights. I would strongly recommend this flashlight if you want a sort of long flashlight with a very heavy feel to it. With the D type Alkaline batteries installed it must weigh at least 6 lbs. I love it! It is a great product. This type of flashlight is a novelty to own and use! It is my favorite flashlight among the others that I own. Just to mention... I did the 3 Watt LED modification which made a huge difference from the original incandescent lamp. I did not go with a stronger LED because I wanted the increased battery life. Even with the 3 Watt LED avoid looking directly in to the light beam. It can cause temporary blindness. There is some speculation that at close range any of these LED flashlights may cause some eye damage if stared in to. If you have an intruder, simply shining the light in to their eyes will blind them enough for you to get our of the area, or take charge of them.

This is my sixth 6-D Cell Maglite in my lifetime. I've used them for camping, power outages, walking at night, work and home repairs. The first four that I bought in the 1980s were one each for me and my three brothers and as far as I know, my borthers all have and use theirs. When mine was stolen in 1994, it was still working. The fifth one that I bought (my second) in 1994 was using it's original style bulb until 2005 when I replaced it with a TerraLux TLE-6EX LED bulb replacement kit, at the time a fantastic upgrade from the standard bulb. It was still working until recently when it was stolen. This time along with the Maglite, I bought and installed an HRQP 3 Watt LED bulb replacement kit and it's the brightest 6-D Maglite that I've owned. There are brighter LED kits available for this flashlight, but I don't need anything brighter than this. It's a bright, durable and reliable brute that will last for years, as long as someone doesn't steal it. It's my go-to flashlight.
