Modern Convertible Travel Backpack

I swapped out my regular backpack for this large travel backpack, hoping that it (along with my carry-on roller bag) would get me through a three-week vacation. I've always like Baggallini products, and I was drawn to the pretty plum color. This backpack did not disappoint. It has some characteristics of a typical backpack, including easy access front pockets and a space for a laptop -- but it also opens fully on the side, like a suitcase, and can be packed like a suitcase. Fully packed, It fit easily below my seat when flying with southwest and United -- maybe a little larger than what I typically stow under my seat, but not a problem. The backpack is easily carried with padded straps -- and it includes a detachable strap for use as a tote bag. It was GREAT for my international trip -- spacious, comfortable, and easy to handle. I feel like I was able to pack a lot more using this and a small roller bag than I would have been able to fit in my regular backpack. that said, I prefer my smaller, everyday backpack for everyday traveling where the additional capacity is not required. I don't think I would use this as an everyday backpack, as it is a little larger and a little more cumbersome with all of the extra zippers. But for maximizing packing capacity for longer travels, this is perfect!! Several people asked me about it while I was traveling --

I loved this except that my 40 oz tumbler would not fit in the side pocket. I travel all the time and a large tumbler is a must that I will not sacrifice, especially on the international flights. I am a carry-on, only traveler, and if the tumbler had fit this backpack would’ve been perfect.

We now own three of these travel backpacks. That’s how much we like them. I was looking for a way to have a carry on bag that didn’t have to be lugged around on my shoulder. I also wanted to have as much space as a rolling carryon bag. This backpack is exactly that. It packs like a suitcase on one side and you flip it over to pack a laptop or iPad and any other travel essentials. It has a grab handle like a suitcase and straps like a backpack. It also includes a shoulder strap if that’s your preference. Wearing it as a backpack frees up your hands to drag a big checked bag or to easily reach for documents or ID or whatever other items you need to get through security. We use them for cruises. We check the big bag with the porters and walk on with a backpack each. We can easily put a change of clothes, medications, swim suits and toiletry items in it. There’s lots of nice storage pockets for all your electronics too. It’s a very well thought out bag and it’s lightweight and made very well. Highly recommend.

This bag is well designed and can hold so very much. I recommend the material and sturdiness. BAGSMART has quality products.

I really like the backpack. The material is sturdy. The pockets are numerous and the capacity is wonderful. However, there is a gap on the second zipper in the front. The zipper does not go all the way to the end and you can see the inside lining. This is not the case for the other zippers. This is an expensive backpack and should not have this issue. I love Baggallini products. I have several. This backpack will not be add to my collection

I have purchased several personal item bags from Calpak (Lukka Duffle and Connect Laptop Backpack) and PacSafe (the CX Anti-Theft Backpack). There are things I love about each of them, but after our last trip to Mexico City I realized I needed to look for a bag that had specific features — at least 25 liters, multiple external pockets, ability to tuck away the backpack straps while using as a duffle) and relatively lightweight. This bag checks all the boxes, plus it looks great.

This is the travel backpack that made me stop shopping for travel backpacks. I frequently travel internationally for work and this bag has allowed me to go carry-on only for a 2-week trip to India. I love that it allows access from the top as well as folding out suitcase-style with the wraparound zipper. Thoughtfully placed pockets, plenty of room for phone, passport, and travel docs in the small front pockets. Adjustable stowaway straps and the luggage sleeve are nice touches. The fabric is lightweight and durable and the zippers work so smoothly. Yes, it is technically bigger than personal item size, but I've never had it questioned at the airport and it fits nicely under the seat of all aircraft I've traveled on. Have traveled on British, Lufthansa, IndiGo, American, Delta, and United without issue. Comfortable to wear with the padded straps. It can get heavy if packed full so just be aware of that. My only complaint is the oddly placed zip pocket on the side, which lays inside the main compartment making it difficult to put anything in this pocket if the bag is packed tightly.
