The side pockets are spacious as well and the bag looks sturdy enough for my purpose
I am not using this bag for hockey sticks, so can't comment on the same.. Am using it for keeping my telescope tripod.. the bag is very spacious with 2 segments, allowing me to keep up to 2 tripods simultaneously. The side pockets are spacious as well and the bag looks sturdy enough for my purpose. Some padding would have been good though.
