Burris FastFire Series Secure Reliable Durable Easy-to-Maintain Mounting System for Red Dot Shooting Sights

After way too much reading, I decided to grab the Burris mount and Reddit for my MK series Ruger.This mount is clever, the screws that go through the Burris Red dot drop through a hole in this mount and attach to a wedge that you place in the dovetail. (Clamping the assembly In place).Don’t worry, the bottom of the mount is curved to match the mk series receiver. It’s a very clean install.I’m very happy with the setup.

Only 4 stars for now as I have not actually take the part out to the range for test fire as of this writing. As the previous writer stated "dissatisfied with the fit of the dovetail mount. Was provided (2x) dovetail mounting options: 1 for the Cougar and 1 for the 92/98 mount." I too have a 92 and found that the 92/98 dovetail adapter was way to small. The "Cougar" one was a little better fit. I am not sure where the other writer's Beretta was made at, but perhaps the 92/98 adapter will fit the American built Beretta, and the Cougar one will fit the Italian made version. Either way, it seems as if there is an adapter available for your 92. Very well made part, fit and finish are excellent, contains two set of screws (2 long and 2 short), lock washers, and tool to install the screws. All you need to do is push out the sight that came with the pistol (be sure you are pushing it out right to left when viewing it from the back side) and push / tap in the adaptor, set the base on top of the slide and screw it down. I topped it off with a Burris Fast Fire III from the same seller. Will update this post under my review of the Burris Fast Fire 3 after I have gone to the range and tested everything out.

The product itself is good quality and comes with plenty of hardware and a tool to get the job done. I had to return it becasue it will not work for the Springfield XDM-elite OSP. Burris indicates it fit the XD (which it probably does) but on the optics ready XDM-elite its placement interferes with the "load when up" bar. The proper plate for the optics ready XDM should have a notch cut in the front to avoid that interferance. I recommend ordering the plate directly from Springfield, the price with shipping is pretty much the same and they ship via Fed ex so it arrives very quickly.

I recently purchased a used Mark 3 Lite that had a Primary Arms Microdot Reflex sight (no longer manufactured) mounted on the top rail. I didn't like the cluttered look of the front and rear sights (unusable with the reflex sight mounted) and the rail. Also the reflex sight was very high and forward making target acquisition difficult and unnatural.The PA sight looked almost exactly like a Fastfire so I took my chances with this mount. It fits perfectly to the gun and the sight. The mount seems to be very good quality. The fit, finish and hardware are perfect. I removed the front and rear sights, and the top rail. Now the only thing on the top of the gun is the reflex sight on this mount. It's a nice clean look. Having the sight farther aft over the grip makes it much easier to find the dot and put it on target. I haven't put the mount through much abuse but it seems like it should hold up very well. The Mark 3 should't put much stress on the mount anyway since the upper is fixed (non-reciprocating).

Fits perfectly on Beretta PX4 fullsize

Used this to mount a Fastfire III on a Ruger Mark IV. I prefer this to using the Picatinny mount on a rail or other scope base that lies along the top of the receiver since it is far less bulky and mounts the sight lower for a cleaner look.You do have to remove the factory rear sight but that's not a downside to me since I'll be using the dot exclusively.Giving this 5 stars for "easy to install", 5 stars for sturdiness but only 3 stars for "value for money". 50 bucks seems way too expensive for a couple of small, easily machined pieces, but it's a very good mount and I figure buy once, cry once.

I read several reviews saying the mount would be offset because of the ridge that secures it to the side of the mount. If you mount it on the front location this is true. The directions specifically say to mount it on the rear location near the hammer. If you do this as the instructions indicate, all is well. It sits centered and secured. Also, the directions state to gently tight the left side. If you over tighten the left side it is just pulling against the ridge on the the side of the mount and will not tighten any further. So snug the left, then tighten the right and it will be just fine.The Surefire 3 mounts securely, and there are no issues. It is nice and compact compared to the pica-tinny rail mount adapters so no extra mass on the top your pistol. I will see how well this system holds up after a few 100 rounds of 44RM hunting loads.

So one day soon RDS sights will be standard on pistols. If you're doesn't come with one from the factory, the slide will surely be milled and plated to mount one. The difference between irons and an rds is night and day, I can shoot effectively at double the range I could before.With that out of the way, if you don't have a pistol with a native mount milled into it, or don't want to mill your slide and void your warranty, this dovetail mount is an awesome solution. I have several Burris fastfires, and this mount holds one into a 10mm 1911. It hasn't budged even with slide shock and magnum level loads.The install was simple once I "coaxed" the rear sight out of the dovetail. The mounting block is a solid piece of steel that slides freely. The unit is held in place by the upward tension created when you torque the whole thing down. Use a generous amount of blue loctite.

Mounted on M&P22 with Burris scope. Took 5 minutes to mount red dot!! Would definitely recommend!

Very well made mount, the protective wings are far more robust than the older version released with the original FastFire. I have it mounted on a barrel clamp on a VZ 58 with the factory side folding stock.The height is good in that setup no need for a riser.
