Bought for my son who's doing GCSE music. He loves it and says it's so much simpler to read than any of the other ones he's seen. The little folding stand feature is also a really nice (useful) touch.

This is such a useful tool if you play the guitar and want to write your own music.

This is one of those things that I wish had been around years ago when I first picked up a guitar. The pack consists of a book, chord chart , and the wheel itself (which is rugged plastic, not the usual cardboard)The book is written in a clear and concise fun style, non of the stuffy seriousness of music tutors in my youth. This is ideal for anyone who has learnt a few chords, played along to a song or two, but is wondering where to go next, and wants a deeper understanding of what it is they are doing.But there is something here for everyone, encouragement for beginners , and for more advanced players,help with things like transposition, and composition are here. I deducted a star for the only caveat which is the price. I didn't buy mine, its an evaluation copy, but £30 seems a tad expensive for a plastic disc , chord chart and booklet. On the other hand, you only need to buy it once .Recommended!

Got this for my child who is progressing with guitar and is starting to want to jam and create their own songs.The decoder in this set does a really nice job of simplifying the circle of fifths for quick reference while playing. Only the relevant chords are shown, and clearly labelled based on the key you’re in.The accompanying book is a really nice walkthrough of chord basics, the theory of circle of fifths through to songwriting.The set also comes with a quick reference card for chords.Overall a really nice set for teaching the theory and foundation of song writing on the guitar. It’s really helped to provide structure and give confidence to my young songwriter.

This is all new to me as I don’t usually play the acoustic guitar as I play electric so use the simplified two finger chords so I was quite interested to see what I could learn from this. The book gave me a good overview of the basic chords and how they are produced on the fret board. It also goes through the circle of fifths theory which is quite handy for me as I can play guitar but have no idea about chords as I taught myself but just learning to play be ear. The decoder is a plastic disc which rotates and only shows the chords that you need at that time. It breaks it down and makes it so much easier as you’re not trying to remember a load of chords but only the ones shown on the disc for the key you are in. A really good introduction into guitar chords if you’re just starting out playing guitar or if you want to learn how to properly play the guitar and understand which chords you are playing…

This is a great tool for beginning to advanced songwriters. This specific bundle is geared towards guitar players. It will help with forming new song ideas as well as helping out when you're having trouble (rut-stuck) coming up with a part in an arrangement or just having a bad time with writer's block. It has its own little unique system that is easy to learn and includes a book and a chord chart. The Circle of Fifths/Decoder has a stand built in that is invaluable. Most guitar players know the problem of trying to follow something from a book/magazine and the trouble of doing it without a space-stealing music stand or something similar. You can set this anywhere and use it right away in the correct position. It's a very well-made product and i recommend it with no reservations. It rocks!
