Beautiful in its simple yet elegant design. This butter dish unit also has a good, sturdy weight. Unlike some reviews, the knob on top is wide enough to lift off the cover unless you have pudgy fingers. Then, it might be harder to grasp and lift. The base handles, on either side of the dish, is a nice design for carrying the dish. These dishes are so pretty, I'd recommend buying two, one for each end of the table, if your table seats ten. A third dish would be attractive in the center if your table seats fifteen or more.

After myhusband crowded dishes into our cupboard, our previous glass butter dish ended up with a chunk of glass missing, so I ordered this one.It works well enough.My only negative observation is that the handle is on the small side so there isn't much of a grip.

Nice piece, heavy and well made. I wanted simple glass nothing ornate and crazy and that's exactly what it is. I gave it 5 stars.My only complaint is that a standard butter stick BARELY fits. My irritation at bumping the sides of the lid with butter didn't warrant me taking stars away ;)

I chose product because of the handle grip.Our prior one didn't have a handle and required grasping on the sides, which was fairly wide and slippery.This top grip turns out to be too small and smooth to provide a clean grasp with fingertips. So I end up grabbing the sides to lift off the cover, just like our old one. That said, this one is narrower, so is easier to hold. (I will continue my quest)

I needed a second butter dish and ordered this one and was surprised how nice it was and how heavy the glass was made. With a little care it should last a lifetime. Looks great on the table whether its family or company.

When using it I find it hard to lift up because it is slippery.

I found this lead-free modern french butter dish to be practical and an attractive addition to a tea table. It keeps the butter in its place, is simple to use and allows you to keep your butter out of the fridge without becoming too soft. A very useful addition to our table display.

No issues, fits the small butter bars with no problems, doesn't feel thin at all, put it in the dishwasher and all good.

This item is very nice-looking, and keeps butter quite well. However, it's smaller than I thought it would be which makes it necessary to be very precise in cutting a pound of butter to fit. If the cut is not exact, the butter will stick to the lid rather than the bottom. It's an annoyance.
