This Tiny Gadget Saved Us From a Lifetime of Key Related Chaos
Before the Samsung SmartTag entered our lives, my husband’s keys were basically nomads wandering the house like they were on a spiritual journey. Every morning was a full-blown episode of CSI: Lost Keys Edition. We searched under couches, inside shoes, in the fridge (yes, the fridge), and once, tragically, in the dog’s bed. Then came the SmartTag. This glorious, coin-sized miracle. Setup was so easy, I thought I’d done it wrong. But no it worked. And it worked beautifully. Now, when the keys vanish into the Bermuda Triangle of our home, we just open the SmartThings app, hit a button, and BAM! Those keys start screaming like they’ve seen a ghost. It’s like magic, but with Bluetooth. The range is impressive. The battery lasts longer than most of our houseplants. And the build? Solid. It’s survived drops, tosses, and one accidental trip through the washing machine (don’t ask).Bonus: you can program the button to do cool stuff like turn on lights or trigger routines. We haven’t used that yet, but it makes us feel like we live in the future. If your household suffers from chronic key disappearance syndrome, this SmartTag is your cure. It’s not just a tracker, it’s a sanity saver, a marriage preserver, and a tiny beacon of hope in a world full of clutter.

Excellent device
Wonderful technology. Samsung makes excellent electronics. I have this on my keychain so I can always locate my keys if I forget where I left them last. This tag was very simple and quick to set up, and it works great! The tone is customizable, and it is loud enough to hear over almost any background noise. Love it.

Work so well it was stolen by the baggage handlers
It so easy to use you have to go online to understand how to connect it to your phone. This thing works so well the baggage handlers broke my zipper and took the Samsung and American Airlines did nothing about it.

Works as it should
Very easy to set up and works smoothly with my Galaxy phone. I use it for my keys and wallet, and the location is always accurate. The battery lasts long, and the size is perfect. Really useful for everyday forgetfulness.

Good buy
It's not bad only had for about 2 and a half months now. It's working how it should. I use it in my car and on my keys. Sometimes it lags which can cause problems if used in a car. For finding the keys it's great as long as you're keys aren't lost in a noisy environment. The set up was so easy. It is a good buy. My first time using one so no complaints getting used to it.

Unreliable
So, I have ordered six SmartTag2's since May 2024. After less than 14 months, two of the six have already failed. Actually, two of five since one is still in its box that I have yet to activate.Replacing the battery is no help. Doing a reset (remove battery, press & hold button, reinstall battery) is no help. Never get a beep. The app just produces error code 05-300. Samsung customer support is no help: After filing a help request through the app, you just get an email (that does not accept replies) focusing on faults in the app, not the SmartTag.The SamartTag2 is simply an unreliable product. Quite disappointing from Samsung; I've had good luck with other Samsung products ranging from smartphones through TV's.

A must have, but needs a battery replacement in less than a month
I have purchased 12 of these Samsung SmartTags2 and the previous SmartTag model. They are great for tracking anything and everything, your keys, cars, luggage, valuables and even your parents by attaching them to their cellphone wallets--a muat have for when you travel and want to let your family know your location. HOWEVER this 2nd version has such a bad battery life! I have had this one for less than a month and it's already telling me that my battery is low. The original Samsung SmartTag (pictured here in black) I've had for over a year and I have yet to change the original battery. It may be that I also have allowed another person in my household full access to it that may be an additional cause to the battery being drained. That being said, it still has various sound options for you to find while using the Samsung SmartThings App.The cons:If you're buying a silicone cover, make sure to buy a metal carabiner such as the one in the picture in the left. The one on the right will break.-Low battery warning less than a month after purchase.-Has to be deactivated from the original phone that it was registered and paired with.-It takes a while to pair and you'll have to update the software before it is able to pair.Pros:-Value foe your money. I have purchased these at $16 and $20 on sale.-Lightweight-Large keyhole that will not get pulled over time or break vs the original SmartTag-Works with a Samsung Galaxy S20+-Allows multiple people access to the keyfob, from full to partial access.-Will save you time from looking for X thing and driving you nuts.-Great for tracking people who are being sneaky links!
