If you have thumb pain or weakness, you need this.
I have a form of arthritis called ankylosing spondylitis. While it's mainly in the back, all the joints can ache/hurt. I have to wear various supports and braces as a result. I have NHS issued thumb/wrist supports to try and minimise the pain and damage but they are pretty basic. My right hand is worst because I'm right handed. If I have to write it hurts after less a minute and before I get to 5 minutes I can't write at all. My thumbs now ache all the time. Sometimes when I'm doing something involving my hands I get a sharp stabbing pain which stops me in my tracks. I considered going back to the hospital but felt they wouldn't be able to give me anything particularly substantial, so I looked online for something suitable. I read various reviews but the Push brace particularly interested me. There's another similar by a different manufacturer but this brace received better reviews. I decided to buy the right hand one, with the intention to buy a left hand one if it worked. Having seen many types of supports and braces it's unusual even to me. As you will see from the picture, the functional part is hard plastic which is braced with metal, the other half is strapping (not sure of the material, not neoprene) with velcro to fasten it on to the hand. The plastic is an odd but not unpleasant brown/purpley colour and the straps are light grey. Supports always look like functional items so it doesn't particularly bother me what it looks like. My winter glove went over it fine, as it's not bulky. I sometimes have to walk with two sticks, which I needed on that day - the brace didn't get in the way too much, I could still grip the handle fine. After only an hour I realised only my left thumb was aching - no discomfort from my right. As soon as I got home I ordered a left hand brace and I'm sure you will understand me saying I can't wait for it to arrive. One of the main times my thumb hurts is when using a spray bottle for cleaning - the bottle sits nicely inbetween the thumb and finger, and my thumb doesn't hurt at all. I can drive with it and am wearing it much more than the NHS provided supports. Please make sure to read the manufacturer's instructions above about reshaping the lower thumb part, which isn't mentioned in the instructions in the box. Originally the support dug into my thumb and caused a bruise on my wrist - I've solved this now. Not all positives, though. The material of the straps curl up at the sides, making quite a sharp edge on your skin and after only a day I had cuts on my hand from it digging in. I've solved this by cutting down a cotton glove to use as a liner. Overall though, as one of the few dedicated thumb supports it's fantastic. The design is obviously very well thought out and it really works. There are even some nods towards making it look aesthetically pleasing. I've seem some reviews say the Velcro fails quite quickly and I know it's annoying if this happens but it's easy enough to buy Velcro from craft shops so I'm not concerned about this.

Expensive, but very effective for the right condition(s). Heartily recommended.
I have spent the same amount and more on many different splints and braces: I should just have bought this one. It is the perfect answer for the right condition(s) - in my case arthritis connected with the trapezoid bone. The consultant suggested the bone could be removed once it became too painful, but with a significant loss of strength following. This device offers support for the bone, reducing if not eliminating the painful movements and seemingly providing a bit more strength for the thumb. I found it initially a little uncomfortable where the strapping wraps around the hand, but that disappeared after a few hours. It seems perfect for long-term use, just needing washing once a day I suspect. I bought the large (size 3) version (with measurement around the hand of 23cm) I suspect the size 2 might also have been fine, there is plenty of spare strapping. I don't know if the thumb support itself is smaller with the size 2, if it is then it is that which really is the deciding factor for sizing. I have quite 'chubby' hands; if I had large but slender hands and the size 2 had a smaller thumb support that would have been the better choice. Squeezing the thumb support requires a bit of effort - and if you have the same problem on both hands (I do) you might find it difficult to exert enough force yourself, so someone else might need to do it for you: the metal insert is nowhere near is flimsy as the aluminium strips you find in many splints, and it's all the better for that. I have the same problem in both hands and the left-hand support is arriving today: I can hardly wait. All in all, I heartily recommend this device, and suggest you don't waste money on any of the cheaper "alternatives" if you have the appropriate condition.

Good - not perfect but one of the better options on the market
I have a problem with my CMC joint and after the latest surgery was looking for a thumb support that would not limit the movement of my wrist. I have had a trusty psb support for many years but it was finally on death's door and a rather funny colour so thought I would give this ago. Positives It completely immobilises the CMC joint without restricting movement for the rest of the thumb/wrist = less pain :-) It's fairly discreet as hand supports go and not too bulky. Washing machinable Having quite small hands it's tricky to find a thumb support that fits properly and doesn't rub. This fits great. Negatives If I wear it too long I get stiff which causes a different type of pain. However as it does not effect the wrist it's not the end of the world. Another reviewer commented that it had no velcro which seemed like a massive advantage (that's what gave out on the psb support) as was hoping for a longer lasting support as my condition is only going to get worse. Having washed it a number of times the velcro is already less effective after a few months so it doesn't bode well. Would I buy one again, certainly. It isn't the cheapest option but without affecting wrist movement it is worth investing in. I sleep in it and wear it for long distance driving, jogging, house work etc so wear it quiet a lot I guess. However if I wear it a bit during the day as well as over night, I do wake up stiff and consequently achy. So I am thinking about getting a psb one again as they are less rigid (better for sleeping?) but that doesn't mean I will stop using this one either.

pain relief almost immediately and it's very light and comfortable to wear.
I received this product just a few hours ago and for the first time in many months, I have felt such great relief. I have been able to hold and cut with a scissors comfortably. I have tried cheaper products and was, without question, very reluctant to spend the amount asked for this brand but I can absolutely without hesitation say, its worth every penny!

keep playing guitar
Asolutely fantastic - comfortable for all day use and it works, pain free. But so expensive - maybe becasue they know none of the cheaper alternatives are as good (I've also a cheaper Velpeau which also works but isn't as comfy for all day but fine for short term)

Expensive but worth it!
Left size 1. I developed an issue with my left CMC thumb joint in my mid-late 40s. I love yoga and spin and found I was increasingly unable to support myself or grip tightly with my left hand. I tried various neoprene supports and found them too bulky and they weren't giving me the support I needed. I read through lots of reviews for this product as it's expensive but decided to measure up and give it a try. It's been absolutely brilliant. It's helped me build the strength back up in my left hand, wrist, arm and shoulder as I'd started to make less of an effort, taking easier options or letting my right side take the strain.. I have since been referred by my GP to physio (who was very interested to see this product and hear my feedback) and the thumb exercises I was given have helped to loosen up the joint. I do these exercises almost daily and use this support when I know I'll be putting strain on the joint through exercise or lifting/pulling heavy bags.

Push splint good but not great
I have arthritis and require a CMC ligament reconstruction and possible trapeziumectomy. My thumb is now dislocated and painful. I have tried various splints, none of which hold my thumb where I need support. My specialist recommended the PUSH support brace, so I invested in it. Sadly I find it uncomfortable. In order for it to hold my thumb effectively I need it to be fairly tight but when tight enough it digs into my flesh at both the top and bottom edges of the hard plastic part and the Velcro straps pinch my skin. After wearing it for a while the pinching wears off, I think this is because the Velcro loosens, but looser it is not effective. I have cut a felt liner for it which helps somewhat. I think that if the plastic part went about 1/2” lower and the straps went diagonally (Crisscross) across my hand it would pull (push) in the right directions with better results. I also think that there should be a soft liner supplied to stop the pinching. The cost of the PUSH support is exorbitant for what it is, however if it really did the job I would say it’s worth every penny. I believe the design is close to being good but is not good enough. To the makers I say ...make the hard plastic spongier but still rigid, perhaps a spongy lining, back the Velcro in a soft backing, make the hard plastic part slightly deeper towards the wrist and redesign the Velcro straps so they crisscross and pull in the right directions. Having said all this I have given it 3 stars because it is better than any of the other splints I’ve tried. With design improvements I think it could get 5 stars, so PUSH listen to those of us who desperately need this help, and if you listen to what we say I believe this splint could make a huge difference.

For me, definitely worth it! Less pain and more comfort!
Due to lockdown happening, my appointment for a thermoplastic custom splint hasn’t happened as yet..my physio had said about buying a push splint at my last appointment. So here I am! I have osteoarthritis in my CMC area of my right hand . I have been doing my exercises periodically, but still getting severe pain and loss of strength during certain actions, so I decided that I couldn’t wait any longer! Only been wearing this splint for 5 days, and although the first day and a half didn’t go that well, I am now finding it amazing! It’s holding my thumb in the correct position and I am in way less pain when I am using my right hand. Initially I found it uncomfortable as it was quite pinchy on the outer (little finger side) and it does take some fiddling around to get the correct placement, but when it’s right, it’s right! Can’t image playing a racquet sport with it though (not that I’m planning to!) as it can still pinch a bit on that side. All in all, I’m so happy I took the plunge and spent the £55! No doubt my hospital appointment will come through as soon as we are out of these crazy times! But at least in the meanwhile I’m, finally, relatively pain free and comfortable! Thank you PUSH

Effective product, worth the extra money
I have worn this brace for 3 weeks now and am very happy with it. It's made of durable materials, easy to put on and take off, and easy to clean. It allows good range of motion while protecting the affected area. There are 4 sizes, so you need to take your measurement to figure out the right one. There are several youtube videos that show how to do this. Also, make sure to pay attention to RIGHT or LEFT when ordering, easy to make a mistake.

Excellent Support
This thumb brace provides excellent support for thumb injuries. It arrived well packaged and easy to slip on. Although this is one of the more expensive thumb braces on the market, the quality and longevity is what matters. While others use a material based strap, this brace uses a silicone based strap which is quite easy to wipe down.

Muy bien.
La talla según las medidas que aportan va bien. Es muy buena opción para la rizartrosis, sujeta correctamente la articulación que se necesita para evitar el progreso de la deformidad y es cómoda y agradable la sensación.
