Heavy Duty, Zerk Fitting to Grease, Smooth action
I was impressed with the Aya Snatch Block. Read on for our observations. -- STURDY: The Aya snatch block is bigger and heavier then the images on the web page suggets...this is a good thing. -- WELL BUILT: It appears very well built and strong enough to handle the 6.5 tons break rating its rated for. While I did not put it under load I would have confidence it would do great under load. -- SMOOTH PULLEY MOTION: The pulley is smooth action. The web page doesn't state this but there is a bearing to support the smooth motion of the pulley that can be greased with the built in zerk fitting. -- WINCH 3/8" Synthetic Rope Fits: The 3/8" synthetic rope of my Apex winch fit perfectly around the pulley in the snatch block. -- FITS A SOFT SHACKLE: The snatch block opening easily accommodates a 1/2" diameter soft shackle. -- FITS ON A TOW HOOK: The snatch blocks opening fits over the front tow hooks on my Jeep Wrangler. -- GOOD COLOR: Silly I know, but I appreciated the almost Hi-Vis color so it easier to find when tossed in a black bag amongst other black colored recovery items.

Easy to use hard to lose
Like the color and simple design. Easy to store for when you need it. Hard to lose this color in the mud! Glad I got it

Off-roading essential
Basically doubles the pulling strength of my winch by adding a pulley. All I have to do is anchor it to another vehicle or tree and then feed the winch line around it and back to my Jeep before reeling it in. Simple and effective.

It works pretty well
When you go off roading in a jeep you need something like this on hand just in case. We actually had to use it recently to help get a car out of the sand because they were not equipped to be driving where they got stuck. This winch made the job pretty easy and rather quick so I'm sold on it for sure.

Adaptable, Lighter than Most, Hard to Misplace (the pink version!)
We cut and skid many trees on our rural acreage. This generally involves use of a large tractor and winch. A 'Snatch Block' is often essential to guiding the tree safely to where it can be attached to the winch headframe. We tested the AyA Gear Snatch Block on a 'standing-dead' white ash tree; first by pulling the tree (notched and back cut) to fall in the desired direction, then to move the fallen tree around obstacles; all while the tractor, winch and operator were safely off to the side. It functioned well, easily attaching to a steel clevis and nylon strap around the anchor tree (pic). My only reservation is the steel snap ring used to secure the pulley axle may be a bit light for extreme heavy pulls. ~ The Duffian

Useful when pulling stuck trucks & 4 wheelers out of mud
Ordered to use to help pull trucks and 4 wheelers that get stuck in mud. It has been helpful and so far I am pleased. Check YouTube if you want to see how to use it it for this purpose.

Be mindful of the rating.
Just a head's up, this snatch block isn't rated in the same way that most load-carrying gear is rated. This block lists itself as a 6ton snatch block which would normally mean that it has a safe working load of 6tons and a breaking strength of 2-3x that value. However, this block doesn't actually list a working load and only lists the breaking strength. So I'd only recommend using this for 2-4ton max (which is really easy to hit when you're talking about a force multiplier like a snatch block). So while I picked up 2 of these, I'd really only use them for recovering ATV's and really small vehicles. The materials do feel pretty good, but all that really matters is what it can hold safely.

Well made, High Visibility, and exceeds expectations for the price
AyA Gear Snatch Block for Winch RecoveryTo be honest, my expectations were low for this snatch block. That said, it exceeded those expectations. The block is user serviceable, with a snap ring holding it together. Additionally, there is a grease fitting on it.The 'hole' size is large enough that I can use it on my recovery hooks on my Jeep, and it works with the synthetic rope on my winch. I tested it on pulling some trees out of the river using my winch and this snatch block as a force multiplier, and it worked.Would buy again
