What is the problem?
I've had and used this set of bowls every day for just shy of one year, alternating their use with just about each meal I ate at home. Of course, I can only speak from my own experiences regarding there utilitarian value; so, here goes. They are great. They're heavy. When needed, I would buy them again without hesitation. Now, on to addressing the glazing issues of the bowls. The base rings on their underside: In my opinion, this entire matter may be, for all I know, caused by a manufacturing process, which cannot be (economically or practically) altered at this point in time. In any case, neither ring is rough to the touch to cause a scratch, or, so textured as to damage furniture or counter top; period. The bowl itself may have (on one bowl that is, in a very small place/spot) hardly able to be seen, but can be felt when wiped with a sponge) a slight imperfection, which I would identify as a distortion or micro pit. All in all (the distortion, micro pitting, glazing issue, whatever it may be called) is still much to do about nothing. After all, these are just White Porcelain Pho Bowls – every day durable implements, two painted ceramic material vessels fired in a kiln, when readied, used as housewares. A great value! And, a great product that I am glad to say that I use everyday too.

Really like these, using them more then expected
These are great bowls. I’ve found I use them now for al kinds of meals, not just power bowls, soups or salad. They look great too

Not sure who their quality inspector is, but Amazon does sell spectacles.
I just knew I should have inspected these things closely out of the box, but alas I did not. First, they are BIG bowls, which is what I was looking for. The problem is they look like Ikea rejects. The bottoms are the worst part. The ring on the bottom does not appear to be finished at all. While this might be good if you set your bowl in a icy step in January, it is not good for wooden tables. I mean, hard it soft wood. These bottoms are like iron cleats.Oh, and the inside of one was not finished, painted or glazed. There were pits in the bottom and specks of the paint (?) that will stop your finger if you rub the bottom.I'd send them back but it's too much hassle. Maybe they'll make good dog bowls.

They're not food safe as manufactured.
Really lacking quality control at the factory: I've purchased four of these bowls and two of them are chipped. Three of them have blobs of matter embedded in the glaze. I'm keeping them because they weren't for food use anyway, but definitely wouldn't recommend them to someone wanting to eat from them.

Poor Quality
As other reviewers have pointed out, these are very low quality. There is material embedded in the glaze. Pinholes in the glaze in numerous spots. The bottom ring is completely unfinished, rough and SHARP. They scratched the surface of my wood dining table. Awful.
