I purchased this for my husband for Father's Day and he was giddy! He immediately pulled it out of the box and popped it together easily. The sounds are really good and the lights really add a lot to it. I liked that even the clear stand was shaped like the Star Trek badges the characters wear. My husband loves it so much he refuses to take it to work so he could enjoy it more. He always takes his new toys to work so he must really like this one! It's worth every penny. The quality is amazing, the price is right and any Star Trek lover will enjoy its sounds, lights and look!

I had the original Playmates version as a kid BUT this one has a separating saucer! I was a little disappointed with the sound effects as it did not have warp sound.

This model of the NCC-1701-D looks really good and well built for its price, perfect companion to my NCC-1701-A. However, the stand that comes with it leaves much to be desired. The 2 pieces do not secure properly and often come loose. I'm considering super-gluing them together. As the ship is so wide compared to that single tiny pivot it sits on, it wobbles easily on the stand, so every time I press the buttons to trigger the sounds and lights, it just wobbles on and on and on. Real frustrating. But apart from this, I love this model from Playmates.
