It's a beautiful watch. It's a different color than the typical gold pocket watches, which I like because it is unique, and the back is smooth and lovely to the touch. The sentiment is perfect for my son for his graduation from college. I love how the engraving is not brassy or bold, but a soft pewter shade. It's a classy watch. The chain is a perfect weight, not too heavy, not too light. It's easy to open, easy to set. The Roman numerals inside are classic and easy to read, and the watch hands are a precise intricate cut out shape. The price was right, and I am happy with my purchase.If I could add one thing, I would say, it would be nice to be able to personalize the back with an engraving we provide. I would be willing to wait extra time to have this option.

My son has talked about wanting a pocket watch for years, because he likes the look of it. I loved the message on this one, and it was fitting because it was his first time living away from home.I printed out a small photo of our family on the computer, covered it on both sides with plastic so it wouldn't get damaged, and cut it out to fit the circle at the inside top of the watch, then glued it into the top, so my son could flip it open and see us when he looked at it. The space at the top was just under 2", so much larger than the typical locket. Besides, you can't give a man a locket.This is not a high end watch. I didn't expect a $20 watch to keep time like a Rolex, as long as works at all, we were OK with it, because it's a sentimental gift, not really a practical one. Also it could easily be replaced if he lost it. This gift brought tears to my son's eyes.It's well worth the price. People often carry around broken pocket watches for the sentiment, and while I have no idea how well it works for time-keeping, the reviews that mentioned it didn't deter me from buying it. I'm glad I did.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Every year for Christmas I'd either buy or handmake something meaningful for my children. This year for my son who's 18 I choose this pocket watch. Although this is something he normally wouldn't wear, he actually loved it because he said it was unique (well for him because boys his age are not wearing pocket watches these days). He especially loved the message written on it. When he opened it and read it, he instantly loved it. The next day, when he adjusted the time, he noticed the second hand didn't work. I thought I was going to have to send it back, but after further inspection he found a very small plastic tab under the knob that needed to be removed. Once removed it started ticking. He loves his watch. Thanks

My 26 year old son loved this. The metal color is more modern n matches his wedding band.He said he will treasure forever.He always knows but will continue to be reminded how much I love him with this special gift.I gave him this , as he had welcomed his new baby boy to the world. I bought 3, one for each of my sons for Christmas. I can't wait to give it to them. I put a picture of each one of them with me on their watch. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's hard to open it. Maybe I needed more time to practice with it but I was afraid to break a nail so I had to use a knife. I love the engraving and the price is awesome. It comes in a nice box as well. It's a very nice keepsake that they will treasure for a lifetime.

The pocket watch is average sized and beautifully done. The contrast in the wording and the color of the watch are perfect and the size of the words are large enough to make reading the engraved message easy. My son is about to graduate high school and I wanted to give him something to remind him of my love during the next step of his life. This is PERFECT.

I bought this for my son's high school graduation. He has enjoyed this so much, carrying it in his pocket daily. He is treasuring this. What a great way to show love to my son as he goes into adulthood with this reminder of my love! It is a nice gift.

Nice looking item, not as functional as I would like. Seems to lose time, get off track often as the hinge to open it is integrated with setting the time.That being said, the engraving is lovely, was purchased as a keepsake for my son's graduation and he loves it.
