woodworkers and handymen: just buy it i bought these because the youtuber Wesley Treat had these or similar and said they come in handythey dowhenever i move a tool or bench in my shop, if it's temporary (like repositioning my bandsaw to cut something large and awkward) i can use one or two of the 1mm shims to quickly prop up whichever leg found the inevitable low spot on my wavy basement flooror shimming around a drawer front for an even gapused them last weekend as wall spacers for a floating floor installand a few more uses so farjust buy them

Always a big problem while shimming up projects is trying to get the right size, in place, and holding the shim steady while you try to screw through it. These come in so many increments, of size, and are built to lock together and you can apply them over a screw or push them in over the screw and they will stay put while you tighten the screw. The only problem is the packaging. Once you open it up the shims come out in force and fall all over and get all mixed up - good part, they are color coded making it easy to pick out the sizes easily.

These are actually metric shims in 1mm, 3mm, 5mm, and 6mm. They are not imperial shims. They APPROXIMATE respectively 1/32", 1/8", 3/16", and 1/4" true imperial size shims. The differences don't matter too much for one shim, but when you stack multiple shims, the errors can add up. For example, stacking eight of the 3mm shims (roughly 1/8") add up to only 15/16" and not 1". The error is 1/16" short. I'm using these metric shims as spacers in a doweling jig by stacking them and so I have to keep these errors into account.

Great for outdoor use since they are plastic and they won’t rot

Very handy for the more precise leveling or shimming out to be flush etc.

My only problem is there are not enough yellows 1 mil shims.they work and make it a lot easier leveling cabinets.
