Great bridge to agility
The Software Project Manager's Bridge to Agility is a great book to study if you as a traditional project manager wants to explore agile approaches.Taking the starting point in your existing knowledge as a Project Management Professional (or similar certification level), Michele Sliger and Stacia Viscardi explains in clear language the concepts and benefits of agile development. They are firm in their belief in agile but not religious, so a part of the book is dedicated to give examples on how agile can co-exsist with traditional minded organisations (who haven't seen the light yet). Another great chapter covers how to sell in agile into the different levels of the organization. You will need to read other agile books as well on your agile journey - books that goes more into deep on the specific agile method you eventually choose to implement. However, this book is important and does exactly what the title claims: provide you with a bridge to agile development.Bent MyllerupCSC, CST, PMP

Really informational even to the skilled agile practitioner
I found this really informational and extremely thought provoking. I will say some of her theories are based around a 1:1 ratio of pm to project or scrum team however we all know in a corporate structure this is rarely the case. Still good info tho

A good book
I am learning a lot from this book. Got my PMP, but don't yet know about agile and the various "flavors" thereof. This book - even though not the newest -- is clear and concise and helping me learn a lot.

A great book to get you from the PMBOK to Agile...
Excellent book for anyone who knows the PMBOK and wants to learn about Agile Project Management! It is also excellent to augment studying for the PMI-ACP. As a teacher and consultant in project management and agile, I recommend it to my students and clients.

The Book I Was Looking For
If you are a traditional Project Manager, I would highly encourage you to get this book. It will tell you what Agile really is, and not what people want you to believe. Great book.

The Software Project Manager's Bridge to Agility
This book has a very different method of project management strategies. the only complain that i have is that the title should not have only software project, as agile method is applicable for manufacturing as well
