A fun bit of retro kit. The main playing machine needs to have the battery (provided) inserted before it will work - an easy job - and then you are ready to go. The plastic carcas of the device is a bit 'cheap' and cheerful - the screen is okay (colours are a bit muted) however my version has a slight gap down the side of the screen so you can see a little blast of light/colour which can be a bit off putting and do remember to remove the plastic scratch cover otherwise you will be disappointed with the quality of screen ! The instructions are minimal but its a very instinctive process to scroll through the many, many games (note that there are a few versions of the same game so its not 500 completely different games - however there are all the old favourites - tetris, pacman etc.) and the playing buttons again are a bit 'cheap' by todays standards but definitely do the job. There is a separate remote and cables included so that you can also hook up to the TV to play which is a fun option to see it on the bigger screen. The volume button is a little wheel on the side and the sound is adquate and can get to quite high volumes ! All in all, for the price, the tech is there - you get to retro game to your hearts content and go down memory lane again (if you're my age) ....ideal Christmas stocking filler or Secret Santa gift for the tricky person to buy for in the office !

Just received this and left button on controller does not work, so can't play any games. Returning.

The unit comes in a nice colour coded box, inside the box there is the main game unit and a few accessories; a seperate controller made of the same plastic and same button layout, a cable for charging and a cable for connecting to a TV.The game unit itself is made of quite thin plastic, it is made of injection moulded plastic and overall the construction isn't bad, there is no sharp edges and the buttons have a good feedback, it doesn't feel mushy. The screen on the system is very good! The colours are bright and vivid, it doesn't deal well with side angle viewing but otherwise its good. The unit has loads of games on it, some going back a fair old way, however its nice to see them in full colour glory! The games respond really well with the controls. There is next to no lag, unlike how they were back in the day!The controller is a nice addition, spacing the controls a little further out, it helped with smaller hands to be able to grip it a little easier. Made of the same plastic, it has a very similar finish.Overall the unit is quite nice and for the price is a good stocking filler for someone getting into gaming or someone who likes retro gaming!

I ordered this games console with '500 classic games' for my daughter and partner who enjoy gaming together.The console feels cheaply made but is very lightweight. The buttons don't always respond properly while playing, which is frustrating and on numerous occasions the screen has gone blank and we've had to switch the console off and then back on.It comes with a battery, game pad, AV cable, and user manual (the writing for this is shockingly small).The size of the console is good for children in my opinion and the screen is a decent size but in some games it's hard to see what is happening. I also don't think that there are actually 500 games, but there are a decent amount and definitely some of our favourites.It's fun and nostalgic but I'm not sure how long this will last.

The small handheld games console does feel a little cheap and plastic, its very lightweight but then you cant expect to compete with both the latest handheld consoles costing a huge amount more. It comes with everything needed for solo play or two player. An on/off switch and volume dial on the side means you don't have to disturb people with the sound.Simple to operate with games pre-loaded, but not the 500 games advertised, as can be seen from the two photos attached some games are repeated, I did test to see if different versions but they are the same game. I would say still a lot of games and easily 300 or more, just not 500. Some are very recognisable but the vast majority are games I've never heard or or played. Quite a few games have the same game play, effectively generic copies with.Its a fun and good value console, and while it may not appeal to kids who are used to the games of today, its a nice trip down memory lane and some of the games are simple but fun to play even with the very simple graphics. The keypad on the console is silent apart from the return button which makes a click sound, and also worth mentioning exiting out of a game returns you to the start of the menu and you then have to scroll through lost of games to get to the one you want or the next on the list You can however hold the down key and it will scroll so don't need to physically press the button a few hundred times, you can also scroll the reverse way.While it hasn't got the 500 games, it works perfectly well, and for under £20 at time of reviewing its good value for some nostalgic entertainment.

The media could not be loaded.  Fantastic little games machine. It has 500 games on it, some good classic retro ones, Tetris, donkey Kong, pac man and many more. Looks like the old game boy design, it has a good colour screen and good sound that's adjustablewith a turn knob. It has a built in battery you charge using the lead provided into a usb socket. You can have 2 players and plug it into your TV and have a big screen to play on. A great console for a very small cost, lots of fun showing my daughter the old games.After 2 weeks of playing on the console approx an hour a day it has stopped working, first the screen turned black with the sound still working and then the sound stopped working, the console no longer works. Originally I gave the console 5 stars as it was a lot of fun but would only give it a 1 star.
