Asterix: Asterix and the White Iris: Album 40

This album is amazing and much better than the last one. I love the puns and satire. It’s funny. The storyline is nice. Didier is doing great with the artwork since he started. I hope that Fabcaro continues writing.

I've read all the books and this one is such a return to what the books used to be like. Great jokes, scheming baddie, Obelix not really getting anything. Really liked it.

Loved it, some lol moments, it feels fresh and, although its not the strongest narrative, it is beautifully illustrated. Superb by Toutatis!

I enjoyed this book. It's first one I've read without uderzo or goscinney involved. I enjoyed it almost as much as the classics. Definitely I'd think they'd be pleased because it's very close to getting there magic writing and drawing. Well worth a read and including all the modern stuff is just very very very funny. I've no doubt the authors were fans of the books too. What a dream job for them. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Since being a young boy and going to the library to get Asterix books I have always enjoyed them.Since the new artists have taken over I would say it has been a mixed bag so far.This was a real treat the illustrations are spot on as always and the story is great.I smiled the whole way through and laughed out loud several times.Great throwback references for the diehard fan of Asterix, wrapped in a great story. I think this is my favourite from the recent additions.Seeing my son read them now as well is a wonderful thing, the world may change but “the small village full of indomitable Gauls are still there making us laugh”Five stars and I can’t wait for the next instalment.

Very enjoyable. Feels like they've finally got into their stride after a mixed bag of quality.

The book was good but I just felt there was a lack of jokes created by Goscinny - just my view

I’ve been buying Asterix books for over 50 years and this is the best Asterix produced in ages, not that any have been bad. This is an Asterix adventure much like the old ones. The story is fun and the artwork is excellent!
