Excellent tripod priced far better than the competition with the same capabilities.
Excellent tripod priced far better than the competition with the same capabilities.Initially I was skeptical about purchasing this tripod. Mainly because there is very little information on the company or product in the English speaking world. The 3WE Light Weight Carbon Fiber DSLR Tripod is manufactured in China by zhongshan three my video equipment technology co., LTD. I decided to give it a try since it was being fulfilled by Amazon and was priced at such an excellent price point. From my initial exposure to this tripod I can say that the build quality feels and looks excellent. The primary building materials are carbon fiber and aluminum with very little plastic used. Since this is my initial review and I just received the unit I cannot testify on the longevity of it. I feel that this tripod should last for years judging by the materials and build quality. It came already assembled with the rubber feet installed. The collapsed length is 15.5 inches, with the hook. If the hook is removed it shrinks to 15 inches. The fully expanded height with the legs in the first position is 64.25 inches. If the legs are brought in tighter it will reach 67 inches. With the legs brought in, it no longer acts as a tripod but more as a monopod. It may stand freely at 66 inches, with the camera installed, but I would not trust it with my full frame sitting up that high with the legs so tight. While the legs are in the first position it works beautifully with my full frame a top.The legs are segmented in five sections. The shafts are carbon fiber and the fittings for each segment are aluminum with plastic inserts and rubber grippers. The segments are easy to operate with a simple twist. They slide in and out easily and can be adjusted to dynamic lengths. The overall fitment is excellent. The head is primarily aluminum with aluminum knobs. There are three locks, one is for the 360 swivel, another for the panning axel and one for the camera mount and quick release plate. The quick release plate is also made of aluminum and secures to the camera or device like most, with the traditional bolt. There are two screws in the bottom of the quick release plate which helps prevent the camera from sliding out of the head in the event you fail to tighten the quick release plate properly. If you do not tighten the quick release plate enough the camera can still fall off of the head. The two screws are for when you swivel the head and point the camera or device down. If the quick release plate was not properly tightened it will allow for some sliding. The best solution is to make sure you tighten the quick release plate enough to prevent sliding all together. With the two screws in the quick release plate, you will find it difficult to slide the plate in or out while attaching the camera or device to the tripod. This may seem annoying at first until you realize why this is designed that way. Simply unscrew the quick release plate enough to sit the camera straight down on to the head and then tighten. The operation of the swivel is easy. I found it easy to adjust the lock for the swivel allowing for just enough movement when I forced the camera into a new position. When I tightened the lock completely it was virtually impossible to force the camera into a new position. The panning axel was equally as easy to adjust and secure. Overall the design, materials and build of the head are great. The camera will be very secure while attached to this head. The 3WE Light Weight Carbon Fiber DSLR Tripod weighed 2.98 lbs without the spike feet, included wrench or bag. With the spikes, wrench and bag it weighed 3.3 lbs. For the performance and maximum height of this tripod it is fairly light weight. This is greatly attributed by the fact that the limbs are all made primarily of carbon fiber. One of the legs unscrews from the body and can act as a monopod. This further adds to its portability and weight reduction as now you will not require an additional monopod except in rare cases. While there are more stable tripods available this tripod is hard to beat for the price and performance. It is classified as a light weight travel tripod but performs better than some heavier and more expensive products. The overall stability is great. I have personally handled many different tripods from many different manufacturers. I have used tripods of many different configurations and materials. This tripod is very similar to the $149 models at popular electronic and camera retail stores (as of early 2018). The overall build quality lends to the stability and performance of this tripod. It is capable of securely supporting my Canon EOS 6D with Canon 24-105MM L lens and hot shoe flash. This combination of camera, lens and flash weighs exactly 5lbs. With the tripod at 64.25 inches high the camera is held securely and any wobble dissipates within 8 to 9 seconds. This allows for me to put the shutter on timed release of 10 seconds and get a clean shot. While the tripod is at 56.5 inches any wobble dissipates in less than half this time. While the tripod is at 49.5 inches the wobble is virtually nonexistent. This tripod is equipped with an aluminum hook at the bottom of the main shaft. This hook is used for sand bags to provide further stability. I did not test with any sand bags or weights. The hook is sturdy and looks to be capable of handling a decent amount of weight.Anyone looking for a sturdy, light weight and fairly compact tripod should consider the 3WE Light Weight Carbon Fiber DSLR Tripod. $83.00 for this much tripod is a fantastic deal.

Very good tripod for modest price
Honestly, I was absolutely surprised by the quality of the device. For the half price of other brands, I expected to receive some plastic toy, but received high quality professional tripod. Light compact and stable. Used it in desert trip with heavy DSLR camera and 80-200mm and 14mm lens for astro-photography. Doing the work. Worked well at temperatures from -5⁰C (23⁰F) to 40⁰C(105⁰F).

bought this tripod after reading good reviews and was not disappointed
bought this tripod after reading good reviews and was not disappointed. This tripod will be used for hunting and scouting trips to hold binoculars and spotting scopes and has been very stable and solid when setup. When setup, you can easily stand and view if you are 6' tall. The metal components along with the carbon fiber poles, make this tripod well worth the cost. After using, I would never spend hundreds of $$$ on a "name brand" tripod. Buy this and you will not be disappointed. It has the ability to hyper extend its legs and also be telescoped down and folded to easily be put in a pack and hike with. Very well made.

Beware of wind gusts.
It does work and light for backpacking but..... maybe a bit too light. When my Canon 6D is mounted the tripod has some movement if it is windy. Not much so you have to weight it down. I'm talking about only a little wind not a hurricane. Also the spikes come extra and have to be screwed on and off to change use methods (ground or carpet, floor, etc.). They work but would be better is embedded in the legs. All in all I'm happy with it as I expect most similar weighted tripods would have similar problems and it is light for packing.

Unbeatable for the price, and extremely light
Really great tripod, especially for the price. I had a shorter tripod that I really liked, but this one is taller, lighter, about as stable, and almost the same size folded up, so I guess I will get rid of my old one!. I compared many, and this one is lighter than nearly every full height tripod out there.

Regularly swap-out the ball head for a fluid head to shoot video - easy to do and works great for this
The product is not as light as I had hoped, but it functions well and lets me get around properties quick as a Real Estate Photographer. Setting the legs and balancing is more work than a 3 joint tripod. Still haven't figured out the mono-pod conversion, but don't really need it. Regularly swap-out the ball head for a fluid head to shoot video - easy to do and works great for this. Easy to carry up hills to get pano shots- Folds up well for off road / backpack treks for landscape shots. Again, take into account the low price its a good kick-around tripod. It holds up quite well against my Leitz and Manfrotto tripods.

Too flexible - returned
Way bellow my expectation, just too flimsy. I was hoping to replace my lighter weight aluminum Dolica tripod with beefier carbon fiber one but this one is very flexible. It is much more flexible than my lighter weight Dolica aluminum one. I very much doubt it can support 10 kg in a stable position as claimed in the specification. Returned.

Great value and quality
This tripod really surprised me for the price. It has all the functionality of a much more expensive model in and I found it to be quite sturdy. I have used it several times mountaintop with a moderate breeze on a Nikon D5500 at full extension and it held it’s ground. I would not hesitate to recommend this to a friend. Comes with a nice little case and packed up in a suitcase very well.
