This thing is powerful, runs long, and was easy to set up! I love that i don't have to pull to start and hope the thing still works...

This replaced a 2 stroke trimmer with a curved shaft that quit after 5 years. I have used the EGO abut 4 times so far. The EGO is not light so beware. It seems to be balanced more towards the battery which does not help. You may want to consider getting a strap. I think I am getting about 40 minutes run time for a 1 hour charge trimming a residential lawn. Not sure what it would be for heavier trimming. I also am using it to keep a 6 foot tall hedge that grows through a chain link fence trimmed up vertically. The bump part of the head protrudes pretty far so you have to get the line at the right angle to do this. Definitely do not bump on the grass! The charger is a little noisy but not bad. I have the manual load head and it is super easy to do, I don't think the auto load head is worth the money. The D-handle seems a little light weight and has some flex to it, hopefully it will not break. The guard is too big to flip edge easily and I am debating whether to remove it. I liked everything about my old trimmer except it was 2 stroke but eventually I will get more comfortable with this one. Most of it has to do with going to a straight shaft after being a curved shaft guy forever. They sell you the trimmer, charger and battery for basically what the battery and charger would cost so it is a good value in that sense.

Easy to start engine any condition, a little heavy than 2 cycle engine but it’s very balanced and strong engine

I bought an EGO weed trimmer from Amazon in May 2022, which was fulfilled Tool Country. The battery is from 2018 & no longer works. The manufacturer will not honor the 3 year warranty because Tool Country is not an authorized seller. Amazon will not help me because the item was purchased over a year ago. I'm stuck with a deffective battery although it's only 16 months old and barely even used.Update after further investigation:The phone number Amazon gave me for 3rd party seller "Tool Country" was not the correct number. It was the number to someone who used to own the name Tool Country but is no longer opperating under that name. The Amazon seller using the name Tool Country is likely a scammer. There is no way to contact them, and it's as if they don't even exist. Amazon needs to discontinue that seller because they are not even authorized to sell the parts they are selling. They are scamming people. I can not even leave a review of their store to warn people of this. And their reviews are 98% positive, so many people will likely be scammed from this seller. Please make sure you're buying this from an authorized seller! Do not purchase anything from "Tool Country" !!!SUMMARY:Tool Country is not an authorized seller of the product I bought. The battery has died and there is no way to contact them. The manufacturer will not honor a warranty from this seller. I believe this seller is a scammer. There is no way to contact them. Amazon has given me two phone numbers and both numbers led me to other companies.

I love Ego Power products but I have to dock some stars from this one because 1) too much assembly involved and the split shaft was slightly crooked which made getting the screws in a major headache.2) This unit is heavy, even with the lightest 2.5 ah battery. It's heavy even without any battery. It should have come with the shoulder strap included. Also the way the strap attaches is annoying and could be more convenient. You have to whip out a screwdriver and unscrew it every time you want to adjust it. I feel like there's a better way to design that.3) The battery life is a JOKE with the 2.5 Ah battery. Don't expect to get more than 15 minutes of use unless you buy a bigger battery. I shoved the 7.5 Ah one from my Ego mower in there and it made the unit heavier, but the battery outlasted me as I weeded 1.3 acres.Those issues aside, I'm very impressed with this weedeater. It's super powerful, cutting through tough bamboo trunks and thick stickerbush vines which I didn't expect. Those things eat through the line pretty quick, but is is capable of cutting them if you need to. It's also much quieter than a gas powered unit, easier to clean, and easier to maintain. No nasty gas fumes, no fighting with a rip cord. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.If you're looking to buy this unit, my only advice is to spring extra money for a better battery, literally anything above 2.5 Ah should be sufficient.
