Young Dental 233102 2 Tone Disclosing Solution, 2 oz.

I was searching for the tablet version of this for my son since his adult teeth are coming in. I went to so many physical stores and could not find them anywhere (though I swear I saw them everywhere when I was not looking for them!). I finally went on Amazon to buy it online when I stumbled upon this solution. I am sooooo glad I decided to try the solution versus the tablet.First off, the bottle was much bigger than I thought it was going to be, and I immediately felt much better about spending $18 for it. It only takes 2-3 drops each time and just tongue it around the teeth and a quick rinse reveals the plaque left on your teeth. I've used it before brushing and after, and it's fun and effective both ways.The first time, we all used it to school our son on the importance of proper teeth brushing, and we all had a good laugh when we, as parents, missed a lot of spots in our own teeth-brushing. The newer plaque stains pink/red while the older plaque shows up stains blue. The first time we all used it, there was definitely blue between the teeth, but now it's mostly pink/red areas.We use it a couple of times a week, and it still has a lot left, so it definitely was a good purchase. It’s been over 2 1/2 months but look at my pics and see how much solution we still have left! If I had gotten the tablet, I would have been out already.

As a Mom-this is the best damn purchase I’ve ever made!!! To battle dental hygiene every night is a pain in the a$$-least favorite part of my day. I’d check my kids teeth every night and every night I could literally see the plaque on their teeth. (Ewww, gross...) My oldest daughter needed oral surgery to help pull down her adult teeth and has braces and was struggling with brushing. She was frustrated with me, I was frustrated with her...honestly I was baffled she couldn’t see what I was seeing! Anyways, the first time we tried it, it looked like she ate a smurf. And FINALLY the lightbulb went on. I thought about getting the red butler dental tabs but they’re super hard and we were told by our ortho assistant that she might bust a bracket with those. I was unsure of paying $17/bottle but now that I know how great this stuff works, I have no regrets. This bottle will last forever...ok, not forever but for a long long time. One drop on their tongue, they lick it all over their teeth, and they know they need to brush until there’s no dye left. I’m no longer the mean mom and their teeth are clean every night. Even my 5 year old can do it by herself now. WINNING. 🙌🏻

When my son got his braces, I was instructed to check up on his dental hygiene, to help him avoid a mouth full of straight but cavity-riddled teeth. This 2 Tone Disclosing Solution is a great help. Every so often I remind him to use it to see not just the spots he needed to brush better last time, but any spots he may have been missing on a regular basis. I like the fact that it's not just me saying, "Looks like you need to do a better job around the brackets on the bottom". The plaque turns red or blue, depending on how recently the plaque started to collect. When there's a problem, he can see that for himself and it's really helping him learn how to brush effectively with all that metal in his mouth. A great product!

I was super reluctant to get this just because I felt curious of how well I actually brushed my teeth.It absolutely shows up as pink and blue (or purple, I can't remember now!!) but it does what it claims!So, after using it. First I felt shame haha but I'm glad I bought it so it really shows me where I'm missing.Yes, it's ridiculously expensive but you only use a couple drops each time so it will last and give you an invaluable way to take care of your teeth.

Wish it had come with information about its ingredients, so I could know what stains are used, and what else is in it. Seems to do a good job of staining new plaque pink, and allegedly it will stain mature plaque purple. The only thing in my mouth that stains purple is my tongue but that may well be because I'm a regular brusher and my plaque doesn't stay long enough to mature. No taste, no complaints. This stuff is pretty okay.

it did not work for me that does not mean it wont work for anyone else just not for me

Why more hygienists won’t disclose first thing in the appointment is beyond me. How can the client possibly SEE how effective your home care instructions are if there is no before and after? It also expediates my polish because I am confident I am thorough. Polish first, instrumentation second.

I am just as happy with the single red solution. I feel that I made an expensive mistake buying 2 bottles of the 2 Tone solution. The important diclosing color is the red. The blue discloses only that which I would brush off before using the red. Therefore, I believe the 2 tone is an expensive gimmick but maybe one which a parent (or dentist) can use to show kids or periodontal patients how to properly brush their teeth.
