Opticron 30742 Adventurer II WP 10x42 Binocular - Black

My main binocular is a Swarovski 12x50 EL, witch TBH i dont like using in fowl weather! may be am a wuss but they are somewhat expensive!! So have "traditionally " used a secondary Bin for winter , however i think my eyesight has changed a wee bit recently? and cant seem to get pin sharp focus on previous winter bins, this warranted the purchase of this Opticron bin- on the back of the stated long eye relief. This Opticron bin does indeed have long eye relief, as with any bin its really important to set up your dioptre and IPD (eye width) correctly. The center hinge is somewhat stiff, this is an advantage because its saves need for frequent re- adjustment. Once you have calibrated the binocular to your physiology, they are VERY rewarding to use, clear bright sharp images are delivered!! , which , at the price is astonishing! the case and lanyard supplied are frankly poor, but, it keeps the cost down and you can upgrade if you wish (with Opticron items-whatever), i always like it when a bin, in fading light, makes the distant image appear lighter than it actually is compared to naked eye observation, and this binocular does that very well. the VFM aspect is insane, the image quality IMO is excellent, they come with 2 year warranty , I understand they are not metal bodied but so what? ( if you drop a metal binocular it will distort or fracture) if they were they would be far far more expensive. So, an excellent binocular WELL WORTH THE MONEY !!

I am a bit of an optics geek and have at least 10 pairs of binoculars from cheap pairs in my pocket, mid-range sets in my cars and some high end binoculars for long range spotting, so I know what I like. These are great just like all Opticron binoculars. They punch above their weight and are good value. Very pleased with them.

A great pair of binoculars, I bought these for my Dad and he loves them. The clarity in the vision is superb and they are lightweight to hold. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a decent pair for a great price.

It is taking me a while to get used to these and I’m not overly happy with them for the price. The right hand adjustable eye rim which screws in and out for use with and without glasses (very useful) is so loose that it’s always accidentally going down to the position for wearing with glasses. It happens without you realising and you’re suddenly out of focus then realise it’s that that has happened again. The neck strap and it’s plastic adjustment fittings are of very poor quality and after only half a dozen uses one of mine broke so I’ve had to tie the strap together on one side. It’s a shame because the light is good and the image is super, once you’ve worked out how to place your eyes on them. I have to hold them against my upper brow in order to get the single image. I’ve got used it this. It it was a big adjustment after years of actually having the eyepieces around my eyes in the sockets with my old Nikon’s. I think in summation, I should have purchased something as personal as this from a ship where I could try them out.

This our second pair of these 10x50 binoculars by Opticron. They are a little heavy but nothing to worry about, and they viewing experience is well worth the trade-offAlso they are easy to operate with gloves onIf l hand to l would buy these binoculars again

These were 1/3rd of the price of my other binoculars but seem just as good and are equally as well made.

Bought these solely for viewing the nights sky In Lanzarote and image clarity and zoom are fantastic allowing us to see the moons of Jupiter, binary stars and excellent resolution of the moon. No stabilisation or night vision (who needs it) but with a good stand these are by far the best binoculars we’ve used.

Only been used a few times the eye relief has stop working. Trying to get them to replace or repair, cannot get through to anybody. Only 5 months old, very disappointing.

I just got these into use over the past two weeks for both bird and insect watching and some night time use. They are a real pleasure to use - well balanced and easy to focus. They work quite well with glasses. Just watch out for one minor quirk - you have to keep them very well aligned with your eyes fi you are using glasses - there is a very limited sight angle before you get image distortion. This being said, they have been great to use so far.

Bought these for my daughter to use for bird watching. I tried them out and really liked the clarity and range of view.

Great binoculars for the price. I use it regularly as an aid to stargazing. Compact and sturdy, perfect weight, comfortable neck strap, and convenient attaching covers included for both the lens and eye pieces. A great buy!
