This is one of my absolute favorite cleansing balms. Even though I don’t wear makeup daily, I still double cleanse every night to keep my skin truly clean, and this balm has been a game changer. The texture starts solid but melts beautifully into the skin, dissolving buildup with ease.After rinsing, my skin feels squeaky clean without any dryness or tightness. There’s an instant glow, and I’ve noticed my pores look much clearer whenever I use this as part of my double cleansing routine. I usually avoid heavily scented skincare, but I actually love the mild, refreshing fragrance—it feels luxurious without being overpowering.The balm itself feels high-end but comes without the luxury price tag. I have sensitive, combination skin, and this formula works wonders without irritation. Gentle, effective, and reliable, it’s one I’ll continue to repurchase.

Banila Co was known for their cleansing balm since it came out in 2006 and they're still staples on the market. Although there is much more competition, they still remain a popular choice and I can see why! I've used a lot of the popular newer brands of cleansing oils but I have very clog-prone and sensitive skin so I'm pretty picky with my skincare and haven't found many first cleanse products that are suitable with my skin type. I saw that Banila Co. has come out with many versions of their original cleansing balm so I was curious to try them. I haven't used Banila Co. since the 2010s.I bought their tea-tree pore cleansing edition and was very impressed. Usually korean cleansing oils are more heavily fragranced but this does not have a scent. It's buttery smooth and easy to spread. It cleanses off all my makeup but I have to say I do still use the heroine make mascara cleansing brush as this doesn't take off all my mascara but most oil cleansers I've used don't always get all of it. After it washes off your skin will feel like a baby's bottom. I was surprised, my skin didn't feel the least bit heavy nor stripped. Even though this is the pore cleansing edition my skin was still left very soft and supple. I would say even if you have sensitive skin, your skin won't be irritated and your pores will be left clean! The blackheads on my nose have gotten slightly smaller and makeup layers much better. I was able to purchase this one on sale and would probably wait for it to be on sale again to purchase. I've noticed korean cleanser tend to be much more expensive than japanese ones but when the cleansing balm is on sale, I'd say there's decent competition there. In terms of korean skincare I would say this one is currently my favorite cleansing oil.

The texture is silky and turns into a gentle oil as you massage it in, then rinses clean without leaving any residue. It has a light, fresh scent that’s not overpowering and hasn’t irritated my sensitive skin. My face feels soft, clean, and never stripped after using it. A little goes a long way, so the tub lasts quite a while. One of the best first-step cleansers I’ve tried!

I've gone through about ten 6oz jars of this since 2020. It was one of my first Korean skincare products, and I immediately loved it. It melted like butter on the skin and emulsified into a thin milky liquid that rinsed away easily.The most recent formulation came out in 2024 and it's not quite the same sensorial experience as the last iteration. The packaging is nearly identical, slightly brighter pink with a lid that is now very faintly transparent, with a new inner divider that holds the spatula (which is nice).The product inside looks the same as it used to, and scoops the same, but it doesn't melt down quite as buttery as the older version, or emulsify quite as easily. It spreads thicker, for lack of a better word. I believe it still works just as well (possibly even better, but that might just be because you have to work a little harder to emulsify and rinse it away, meaning more contact time).It's still a very good basic cleansing balm and I don't think it will take long for me to adjust, but I sort of miss the feel of the old one.

This makeup cleansing balm is absolutely wonderful! It is not only very effective at taking all of your makeup off, including your mascara, but it leaves your skin incredibly soft. There was absolutely no irritation at all. This is truly the first time I have found a cleansing balm/oil that will remove all makeup - none of the others have ever taken off all of the mascara like this one. I will buy this one for life!
