France 2024 - Tourist & Motoring Atlas A4 Laminated Spiral

Super map book - a great buy
Really liked the easy to use spiral binding (only slightly difficult where place names cut over pages), because the pages are laminated/plasticised they turn easily and don’t catch, plus the covering means that your fingers don’t smudge the ink if you have them in between pages marking your next turn or have rested a fingertip on a destination point for a while! Nice size - not too big to fit in a side door pocket and not so small that you can’t read place names.

Practical road atlas
Just returned from France where I used this atlas in conjunction with Google Maps (with traffic notifications disabled). It's practical, easy to follow and an easy to use road atlas. I liked particularly its clarity and the laminated pages so you can use a chinagraph or highlighter to mark your route. Also it's ring-bound so stands up to rough handling and perhaps trampling in the footwell. On the downside this makes it somewhat heavy and bulky, but not unmanageable. I would also have liked a bit larger scale, some minor hamlets don't get named.

Really good for touring
This is sturdy write-on wipe-off if you buy a chinagraph pencil lovely level of detail superb far better for overview route planning than an on screen map or a sat nav.

Comprehensive map but scale too small
The map itself is well up to Michelin standard and the laminated pages are ideal for use in the car. Unfortunately, although they do a larger scale in paper they no longer do it in laminate. Pity.

Great guide
Excellent guide for planning both car and bike routes

Robust and can be written on
Smaller than the original Michelin Road Atlas but easily handled. Because the pages are laminated it is possible write on them and remove with a cloth. The scale has been reduced to 1:250,000 from 1:200,000 but it is very legible. It looks like it will last well compared to the original paper ring bound book.

Pratique.
