New edition of a classic
Other than the typo I found… good as the last edition which is out of print now.

The Bible of writing
This book can make you a great writer. It's been the go-to reference book of writing for a century.

A rip-off of the real thing
This version of the classic The Elements of Style - sold as the "The Elements of Style Fourth Original Edition (Annotated)" is not annotated, neither does it contain the promised chapters on texting and emailing. Instead it is a very poorly formatted version of the original. The index is mis-numbered, the fonts are inconsistent, and the text contains what seems to be snippets of personal emails: "Thank you, John". This disaster of a book is an excellent example of why true, legal, copywrited edition of books ought to be sought out and bought. It is all but unreadable and completely useless for grammatical or editing help.

Essential reading but get a different copy
This should be read at least once by anyone who writes anything ever, from social posts to academic papers. It has aged remarkably well (for example, on pronouns). Overall, it's funny, thought-provoking and basically a good use of your time.Unfortunately this copy was digitised very poorly so all the tables are mashed into mixed-up text, making it very difficult to read in parts. Get a better copy but do read it.
