This Extra Tall Retractable Baby Gate is great. What I really liked about it:1) it was easy to install2) it looks nice and “expensive”3) the mesh is good quality, smooth and thick4) it retracts smoothly and has a convenient opening/handle, so you could open/close with just 1 hand!Overall, I’m very impressed with the quality of this product for the fraction of the cost. Also, it was hard to find the gate that is EXTRA tall (42 inches), and I’m grateful for finding this one. We installed it in the entrance to the basement (see a picture), because it doesn't have a door, just a staircase.

It stows nicely, keeps the german shep out of the den, and allows airflow better than the lexan gate we had before. Big win there.It will not stop the cat who will wriggle under it even with the lock engaged, but I won't hold that against it. Its tough to stop the nefarious nature of the cat.It will not stop the husky either, but she will destroy anything in her path with little effort, such is the life of a husky owner.The only thing I dislike is the grip area of the latch bar. Its not super easy to manipulate and rotate so the hooks engage. Perhaps a small 90 degree adjustable tab or handle would help with quickly opening and latching. Just a thought.

This came in a previously opened box. Decided to take a chance and turned out everything inside was still packed like new and all parts were there. Very easy to install. Bought it to separate fighting cats. The extra hight detours them from jumping over, so far. We have all lived in peace since I installed it. The gate is easy to open and close quickly. I tried a metal gate with bars, but returned because it was cumbersome to open. I had to lift and pull, and it had to be positioned just right to latch. This one I just grab the side pull forward and connect into the mounted hooks. So far after 2 weeks of use its been great. Highly recommend.

This is a pretty good screen, went together easily, works easily. But even with the gate locked and the screen just 2 inches off the floor, my small german shepherd (55lbs) can seemingly get under the screen. It does keep my retriever on the correct side, and my german shepherd is a bit of an escape artist, but still it would be better if the bottom wasn't as loose or if the screen was tighter.

We purchased this product to keep our medium-sized dog from running out the front door. Since we live near a busy road, it's nice to have a sense of security that she won't get out if we have guests coming in. Our dog is quite respectful of barriers/gates so she doesn't jump up on them. We didn't necessarily need the extra high gate, but we wanted to make it safe. We like the taller gate aesthetically over the shorter one. It came in different lengths so we also got one for the kitchen, the stairs, and our hallway. Overall, I plan to purchase or recommend this again.
