Tavistock Vortex Dual Flush Air Round Push Button Cistern Toilet Pneumatic Chrome

Like a majority of other reviewers it seems, we had a broken flush. We only moved in last year and didn't install it so it took me a while to identify the right part. Once arrived I had to slightly widen the hole (as per another review it is 1-2mm wider) but a quick bit of chiselling and bobs your uncle. The whole thing took 10 mins, most of that was finding my chisel! Significantly cheaper than the original, and seems sturdier - win win!

Bought this as a replacement for one which kept sticking, the second one to do that. I had to enlarge the mounting hole to get it to fit, but the difference was amazing , it’s like the rolls Royce version of pneumatic flushes.

Technically these don't seem to work in the same way as the Thomas Dudley 327732. With the Dudley when you press the big button (big flush) the air comes out of just one outlet but with the Tavistock it comes out of both. When pressing both the big and small buttons together (small flush) both the Dudley and the Tavistock do work in the same way with the air coming out of the corresponding single outlet.I did get the Tavistock button to work with my existing Dudley Vantage system but I had to swap the pipe positions and accept the fact that a big button press now means a small flush and a combined button press now means a big flush but considering the Tavistock button is half the price and appears to be better quality, I think I can get used to it!Update: Since writing this review, due to the technical differences the flush became unreliable so I have now modified it so whatever button you press it is always full flush. I did this by blanking off the outlet at the top (the one under the valve slide operating mechanism) and connecting the other outlet to the full flush pipe (see photo).In summary I am tempted to say it would have been worth spending the extra money and getting the fully functional Thomas Dudley item but they seem to be worse quality and twice the price and that's just not acceptable.

Nice quality easy to fit

I bought this to replace a broken flush button. It is very easy to replace if you are able to remove the facia panel where it is located.

Did not work with new Dudley cistern, not obvious to me from the listing.

This item not only looks well it does the job every time . I am writing this review after 1year and is still good as new with no rub marks or wear. Good value compared to some outlets.

I got the impression from a couple of reviews that this button was compatible with Duldley flush valves.I can categorically say the in the case of the Dudley Niagara Pneumatic Dual Flush Valve (bought in 2023) it is absolutely not compatible.Only the half-flush air outlet provides anough air pressure to operate the flush valve. So, if you connect the hoses the correct way round you end up with a working half-flush button but with a full-flush button that requires holding in to get a full flush. If you reverse the pipes then you have a working full-flush button but a non-working half-flush button.This is in no way a criticism of the product, as it is not advertised as being compatible with Dudley valves.I'm just writing this review as information for other buyers who might otherwise make the same mistake as I did after reading some of the reviews.Rather unfairly, I'm only giving 4 stars because I'm unable to say how this button would have performed with a compatible valve.
