For the past 6 months I’ve been pulled pillar to post by two small, but incredibly stubborn male dogs who both think they should lead on walks. One stops to pee, the other one pulls forward, and I’m stretched in the middle.I didn’t buy a double lead earlier because they all looked so long and I wanted to retain control when on the pavement, but when I saw the Barkswell lead it looked shorter and had good reviews so I went for it.1st thing to note is it’s a quality product. A fully padded handle is comfortable to hold, the lead length is the same as a standard single lead (but can be extended or reduced to fit your needs), the hook and hoop where the two leads join allows full articulation (meaning your dogs can wander left and right without tangling the lead) and all of the materials seem really durable.Only used it twice so far, but on both occasions I’ve been able to relax and enjoy watching them pull each other in opposite directions without ripping my arms off.On a serious note, realising they’re pulling against each other rather than me seemed to encourage them to walk together more cooperatively. That could be a lucky coincidence, but I’ll take it.Great product.

I bought this product because we have our own dog but also look after other dogs for family/friends whilst they are away. The lead is generally very good and I am happy with it. However, there are a couple of things that could be improved. The handle is a foam handle designed to hold in your hand. I prefer to put a dog handle over my wrist so it is the strength of my arm that is stopping the dogs from pulling not just my hand. This is probably just a personal preference. The other small problem is the bungie part of the lead. It is designed so the dogs will stretch the bungie when pulling so it acts as a shock absorber. However, there is not that much allowance in the bungie part so when I was walking the dogs (currently a retriever and a cockapoo) the stronger one (retriever) kept walking as the weaker one (cockapoo) stopped for a pee, the cockapoo got pulled along before I had the chance to stop the retriever so he was forced to pee whilst walking.

I like to review items where possible after having owned and used them for a while. I’ve had this lead for a few months now and can only say positive things about it! I have two strong, very energetic Spaniels, both three years of age. This double lead is so strong and you feel it will never let you down. The dogs pull slit and the ‘suspension system cushions your arms and you never get the jolt from other leads. The handle is second to none. I have arthritis and chose this item as I liked the cushioned handle. It is so comfortable. It moulds to your hand, gives you complete confidence and comfort. The clips are all high quality, the lead material extremely durable. I walk up hills, in beaches, in fields, woods all the time and always use the double lead. OUTSTANDING product. Will buy another, not because it is likely to ever need replacing but in car I lose it!

I am 4ft 11 this has given me great control over my greyhound. She walks much better to heal, pulls a lot less and when she gets "reactive" to other dogs, this lead gives me so much more control. I attach one end to her collar and one to her harness. This is a great training lead.

The media could not be loaded.  It is a very sturdy lead, which looks like it will be hard wearing. I did worry that it would be too heavy/strong for my two dogs when I first got it out of the packet but I was wrong. This is great for taking them out - I feel in control and have a hand free to deal with anything, like answering the phone or getting out a poo bag. They also don't get tangled up with each other and seem happier to walk together than previously when it was more like an extended wrestling match. My two are not a match in terms of weight or pulling power but this did not seem to impact on their walking experience as I could sort of lend my strength in the middle to stop the lighter one being dragged off an interesting smell prematurely. They can still do the usual stuff like get one leg either side of the lead so you have to lift a leg over it etc., but that is the case with any lead

Lovely product. Good structure and robust. The two separate leads have a hand hold on each should you need extra hold. Single lead has a comfortable handle. The connection from the two leads is a D ring so swivels allowing the dogs to change sides easily. You need to keep the dogs in front of you so they can cross over. A couple of times one dog got behind me so you end up in the middle but by being aware that didn’t happen too often. You find that one dog stops the other does as well. Big point is that I’m not pulled in both directions with two leads by two 8st Rotties therefore saving my shoulders from being pulled in opposite directions lol

Really well made strong lead. I did struggle with it at first, but after a few walks got the hang of it. It’s easy off road walking, but keeping the dogs close on a busy road is a bit more challenging as the leads are very long. I’ve worked out now to also use the rubber handles lower down, whilst holding the top handle in my other hand. The top handle is really awkward to hold when road walking, but again it’s easier when you’ve got the space to let the dogs out a little wider. The suspension helps with pulling though.It is a good buy, good quality, bulky to hold when the dogs are free, but I’m getting the hang of it now.

I have 2 excitable French bulldogs who, previously would jump all over each other and tangle the 2 separate leads. I wanted a dual lead that would rotate as they switched places, but was also strong enough to hold 2 muscular dogs. This product did just that and the stretch seems to take the pull out of them - 5/10mins in and they were walking nicely. Only criticism is the main handle which for now is fab, but I do wonder whether the foam will begin to deteriorate over time??? Traffic handles are a welcomed bonus. Overall the lead does what it says on the tin (or in this case bag) 10/10!
