Am I missing something?There is a plastic cap that covers the 2 bolts that connect the mounts to the car. You can choose to lock that plastic cap if you buy locks. Ultimately though, the cap is plastic and a box-cutter would go through it. Am I missing something or is this the only thing stopping a thief from walking away with the whole rig? A box cutter and an allen key?Otherwise it's a beautiful rack and thank goodness for colors. But meh on security if I'm understanding the mechanism correctly.

Does not work with the factory 2010 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport roof mounts. I gave this 5 stars because I have been using the TieRod version for years and I made the mistake of ordering the wrong one. My fault; I only wanted to put this information out there for other customers to help them selct the correct one.

This is a solid bike rack that cleanly fits into my Thule rapid aero bars. It is designed for slotted crossbars so it really looks flush when it's all hooked up. I have two silver Euro Pitchforks on my car and have been totally satisfied with them. I love the look, the easy installation, and the awesome quick release. Plus, I feel safe carrying my expensive bike. If you have a European type car or the Thule rapid aero bars, you should really check these out- I think you will be satisfied. I haven;t had any problems with this bike rack. Oh and I get compliments all the time.
