BergHOFF Seren Slim Side Loading Toaster, Cool Touch Countertop, White

We've had the toaster for nearly a year now and are very happy with it. It is easy to load and remove small pieces of French bread which would get stuck in normal toasters. And emptying the crumbs from the bottom couldn't be easier. I would definitely buy it again.

A truly terrible toaster. If you are expecting bread to become toast, don't bother with this thing. Plus, it makes a horrible, perpetual screeching "beep" when it has completed its cycle. I have pulled my old toaster out of the trash to replace this replacement.

If all you want to do is toast slices of bread there are easier ways to do that than this. I wanted the long feature for toasting so it would sit back next to the wall without sticking further out into the counter space. I wanted white because my kitchen is white. Most important I wanted to be able to toast slices of bread and all sorts of objects that do not have that shape. I have tiny baguettes to toast and other bread like objects to toast. The way this works gives flexibility that is not present in a standard toaster. That is what I was looking for, and I am delighted I found it.

This Seren - Side Loading Toaster is awesome. I love that I can reheat things quickly and easily and it doesn't take up the space of a toaster oven. It is much easier to clean than a toaster, too, which is a major plus. I made breakfast sandwiches in it for the family this morning and everyone was able to eat at once versus have to go through a long cooking process of putting together sandwiches and cooking them individually. I highly recommend this toaster.

Didn’t toast bread evenly and was not the quality I was expecting for the price. Even at a high setting we had to cycle twice and watch carefully to not burn.

This toaster was a perfect gift for a friend who had limited counter space. Because it was only about 6 inches tall it fit perfectly on her counter space. The side loading also kept heat away from the top near her cabinets. Very chic design, she loved it! Made excellent toast and bagels!!

I bought this BerHOFF toaster because slices of my homemade Italian bread are small and hard to get out of a regular toaster. This BergHOFF toaster has a tray that you remove from the end of the toaster, and there is a wire rack in the tray that grabs and holds the slices of bread, so my small slices of bread do go in and out easily. But inside the toaster, there is just one heating element on each side, and my small pieces of bread were below the heating elements, so even after toasting them on the highest setting twice, they never really toasted. Furthermore, both ends of the toaster are open--you can look right through the toaster from one end to the other, even when the toaster is in use--so it doesn't seem to me that the design is very efficient at capturing heat. Finally, even though the description of the toaster says you can heat croissants in it, it looks to me like the wire rack inside the tray that grabs the bread and holds it in place, would crush something as delicate as a croissant. There are no pictures demonstrating how to toast a croissant without crushing it between the sides of this wire rack. I will be returning this toaster today.
